Which corner you are talking about? Pro player like Serral is capable of "probing" where the mines are and avoid or take them down with Overseer. Plus 8 Mines equal to 16 army supply that cant be used elsewhere. Turrert doesnt cost supply.

@@tigera6 I guess you have difficulties reading a text properly, I said before there were overseer (read again pls). And btw Serral did took mine shots during this game watch again. And yes it does cost 16 army supply, but how much did it cost not being able to shut these mutas down ? 16 army supply is nothing. Those who thumbs up your answer are probably bronze

@@johanjof5613 even without Overseer you can find where the mines is with careful micro, and bait them into overlord instead. And 16 army supply is alot in early and mid game, and you have to remember Terran heavily rely on Mines/Tanks to defend against lingbane as well. Missing 8 mines to use is huge unless you have a 2nd factory to build 4 mines at a time but thats not the current meta.

The perfect play is to use minimal resources required for the job needed. If you actually tie up that much resources and army power to be there just in case, it is a lot. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't but It just might be that in most cases it would be a losing move and only in some cases the right solution. Imagine doing these hundreds of decisions like this in a game and picking against odd's a few times and you just lose. Radical example would be to keep droning against a supposed all in, which then happened to be a fake. If you picked droning and just trusting it's a fake, you get ahead of the enemy by a margin - If you guessed wrong, you lost the game. Of course 8 mines is not this radical but if you make only a few decisions like the 8 mines, you might have no chance. Also "overdefending" is not really Clem's style, nor is defending for that matter. If Clem's strength is actually being aggressive, the safest bet would be to keep as many units to compliment his strengths as a player, right? The way I see it, if Serral gets damage done with mutalisks and then also gets the terran to really invest in the defense against the mutas like that, It's a win for the mutalisks. By the way, there is also the possibility to lose the mines to the mutas without kills with overseer probing. Which would double down as a bad decision.

@@tero5596 Thank you for your interesting point. I checked the timing in the first game. Serral started to harrass with mutas at 7:15. He only added an overseer at 9:40 ! He even took a single mine shot at 8:10. At 9:00 Clem already had 2 factories and one with a reactor and he was planning to make mines anyway. See between 9:20 and 9:50, 3 mines doing nothing but following marines chasing mutas. Probably easy to say after the game but I do not see the point of not burrowing mines in such situations, they do not shoot up right ? And mutas won't let Clems get out, and you know the purpose of mutas is also to buy time so nothing else than muta are gonna come. So what I say is that mines are there but not used and there are no overseer, that is a missed opportunity to me. You are right doing mines for just that might cost you but he does play mines all the time anyway so it' worth using it for mutas

Oh and also liberators in reasonably high numbers are pretty solid against a-moving zerg armies.

It's good only if you know how to split units and position to get a good surround. But the majority of the time, you're being harassed by other races like terrain and toss have harder to counter harasses. So the downside of having decent units is being able to get banshee/battlecruiser rushed or oracle/adept rushed. This is far more difficult to counter even when spotted than a zergling or roach push.

You realize DeMuslim is a Terran player and he holds Serral in such high praises? Clem(terran) and Maxpax(protoss) can also compete vs Koreans.
