Suggestion: Should check to make sure the top(fill) bolt can be loosend first prior to drain plug. What if drain plug comes out and fill plug is striped... your Tcase is empty. Now you cant drive to the Shop for help. (Same for differentials)
I’ve never taken it off just assumed it was put on right plus I did mention take your time don’t strip it. That would be such a nightmare, but it’s definitely good advice appreciate the input 🤟🏽
I think you have the wrong fluid in the trans. The JL/JT’s have either a 850RE or 8HP75 transmission in them and they require ZF 8&9 speed fluid. Mopar ATF+4 is not compatible.
I went back and fourth about this with a tech and he told me atf4 is equivalent or better. I had the same question let’s hope it doesn’t bite me in the ass
So after reading your message I dove into making a few calls and you are 100% correct I will be draining and refilling with 8/9 Speed ATF is the proper one for this ZF configuration I will note this on description.
Didn’t mean to rain on your parade. Just don’t want a fellow jeeper ruin there transmission because I’ve replaced a few of these transmissions from incorrect fluid smoking the clutches. Either way great video👍
@@derekmiller6859 no absolutely not man when shit is wrong it should be pointed out I appreciate it big time. Not just for me but for the community. I had a couple words with the guy who told me. Thank you
Good stuff. On that note, I'm REALLY interested in that dual battery set up? How do you have it connected and how are you using it meaning is it in conjunction with your main batter an still running the little batter, or did this bigger one substitute the little one?
@@TrailMilitia Wait, so you have them in parallel with no isolation solenoid or anything AND you still have the little battery in the jeep AND there are no codes or issues with the alternator staying at high output all the time? You've got me really interested now. Also you didn't answer how you're using? What I mean, is that the old school way (like in my 95YJ) was to put two batteries in with an isolation solenoid and wire up the winch to the second battery so that the power wouldn't suck down the main cranking battery and the alternator would still "charge as you go" especially if you had the high amp alternator like the 210amp (recall prior to the JL's and I think the JK's the alternators weren't "smart" alternators with alternating output) . Please share more details I'm sure others might be just a curious especially considering there's so much on the internet that you cant do that hence the reason Genesis came out with that crazy expensive dual battery set up?
