Just so you know you should get him screened for diabetes often. Black labs at pron to it and my child hood one has it. Is awful they go blind and get really skinny so you can see there ribs. Just be safe and get him screened often❤
no specific colour of lab is more prone to anything than any other colour. also labs when kept at a healthy weight with the proper diet and have frequent exercise are relatively low risk for it. it's probably still a good idea to get checked every 12-24 months but it's not really a worry.
@@Georgethegoose8 sooooo you have no idea is basically what your saying. you having one black lab does not mean that black labs are prone to it. coat colors have nothing to do with it.
@@Elegantly_Bored no your not listening. I have had one lab when I found out he was diagnosed with diabetes I did research. I found out labs are prone to it while doing that coat color DOES NOT MATTER. Correct me if I’m wrong
I love seeing him play with the cat. He’s so gentle. I know he’s a great working dog but it’s so cool to see him play on is off time. People don’t understand that service dogs get play time so they feel bad for them but they really get the best of everything.
I just found out im getting my first service dog soonish, so moving to a better apartment for a large dog. Seeing this just brings me so much joy for the adventures ill be able to have with my new puppy friend
Still just depends on the dog. Though id assume for a lot it would most likely be a bit less stressful since service dogs are usually very socialised with things. But i dont know.
@@Gremlinsbean I always wonder..I groom a couple of poodles that assist with seizures so I wonder if the person has an episode without their dog if it causes any extra issues for them.
@@L.2013 well assuming that the dog is trained to alert them before they have episodes then not much would happen except that the owner would need to be careful as they wont have that extra time to prepare before an episode but i dont think it would cause any extra issues other than they might be injured if they fall over
Pet dogs shouldn't be home alone for 8 hours a day regularly either. If no one is home all day from when you leave for work to when you come home from work (more than 8 hours when you factor in the commute) you either need to leave your dog at a dog daycare, or choose a different species of pet.
