why does the reference point (homing) miss sometimes? and what can be done to stop repetitive reference point from missing from time to time. NB: mine uses a belt and the tension is OK. limit switch are OK.

Do we need to perform homing all the time before feeding any pre-existing parameters file?

The homing is up to you, based on your application. The drive will power up at position 0, so it is always "homed" in that sense. In many applications however, a real world position needs to be established as "home" so the drive and software allows for that with these homing options.
