@@irracalifano I followed the recipe but for the sauce I used hoison sauce, ginger powder, garlic, sesame oil, chili oil, squeeze the orange for the juice. Delicious.
Years ago I lived in a town with a fabulous Chinese restaurant that had a daily lunch buffet to die for. Every offering on the food bar was just tremendous - not a bad dish to be found. However, their sesame chicken was insanely delicious, and it's what kept me coming back time and again. I would eat so much of it with their amazing Chinese egg noodles that I would go back to work full and tired. But I couldn't help it! When we moved away I was never able to find sesame chicken that even compared. But your sesame chicken looks absolutely IDENTICAL to those in my memories, so I cannot wait to try it. Thank you!

MARINADE chicken breast 1 lb egg white1 salt pinch cornstarch slurry 1 tbsp sugar pinch SAUCE soysauce 1 tbsp rice vinegar 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp honey 2 tbsp salt pinch white pepper pinch sesame 2 tbsp chicken stock 1 cup cornstarch slurry 2 tbsp BATTER flour 1/2 cup cornstarch 1 cup baking soda 1/2 tsp salt pinch egg 1 vegetable oil 1/4 cup water 3/4 cup PROCEDURE cube chicken 3/4 inch massage chicken with marinade fry in 4 cups of oil. 177C for 5 minutes fry again in 191 C for 1 minute cook sauce with cornstarch slurry for 1 minute. tossed in sauce
I gave up on searching for Sesame Chicken recipes because no one would explain the proper way on how to make the sauce and how to cook the chicken. I will definitely be trying this soon or they would just overcomplicate the whole thing. I'm gonna add some broccoli to mine. Thank you!
Hi Cici Li! I made this today and it was delicious, but as soon as I put the crispy chicken cubes in the sauce at the end they softened up. How do you keep them crispy?
Monika Csonka Hi Monika , I also have tried this recipe . I would suggest letting the chicken sit a few minutes after frying before you dip into the sauce! Hope this helps :)
Boss Queen I tried several times with adjustments by it never crisped up sufficiently. I figure I'll just makes this rarely with deep frying (the shallow oil method to minimize the mess/cleanup).
