VIDEO-If your Harley Davidson is equipped with a factory installed alarm then you really need to immediately change your security PIN code. Harley puts a standard factory preset PIN code and it is usually 31313. Yup, I could actually sit on your Harley Davidson, start it, and ride off without the key fob present. But don't worry, I would never do that to a fellow biker. However, there are thieves that know this and the simple standard PIN code Harley has set, hoping the owner has not changed it. Don't be that guy.
If you forget your key fob or drive away without it you may be stuck somewhere if you shut your motor off. Unless you know how to override your Harley Davidson security system by a sequence of things you can to enter your security PIN code, which includes ignition switches, signal switches, and Run/Off switches. Ultimately, this will allow you to start your Harley Davidson without the key fob present and ride on! If you use the fork lock then you are really screwed and there is no way around that other than to get the key and unlock them.
You need to be within about 5 feet of your bike with the key fob to get the bike started. So, say your key fob is on the work bench or key hook in your garage near your Harley. You start your beloved Harley and ride off into the sunset. You stop at your favorite watering hole completely unaware you do not have your key fob. You pick up a hot chick and she jumps on the back of your Harley. Ooooops, you look like a fool and you can't start or turn on your Harley. Don't worry, you can save yourself.
That's right, you watched this tutorial video and you set up a unique PIN code last week. Now a few flicks of some switches in a sequence and you enter your security PIN code. Bam, you fire up your Harley and ride on with the chick and she never knows. I won't finish the story and I'll let your imagination do it instead.

Further, we show you how to get your bike into transport mode in case you ever have to tow or transport your bike on a trailer. If you don't put it in transport mode then the alarm activated by motion detection can discharge the battery, as the signals will keep activating over and over. Transport mode allows the vehicle to be picked up and moved in an armed state, however, any attempt to start the engine when the fob is not within range will trigger the alarm.
