Unfortunately, they were not executed for their attack. Samir kuntar and abu abbas were sentenced life in prison in Israel. Eventually abu abbas was released in exchange for Israeli POWs. And in 2008 samir kuntar was also released in exchange for POWs i believe and when he returned to Palestine he was decorated a hero and they had a huge welcoming ceremony for him and I think when he visited Syria they threw him a birthday party. He died in 2015. Ironically, from a terror*st attack.
