Love Ripcord. I bought a used bow and contacted them to get a new launcher as there is nobody selling spares in the UK. Blow me! They sent me two launchers as spares for free! Now thats how you build a brand loyalty. I like how the video is done so that he demonstrates too tight and too loose. Absolutely foolproof way to get the timing right. Well done.
I got one of these, setting it up in the next couple weeks, I’ll tinker with the timing to get it to that sweet spot and then shoot paper to make sure I got it centered since my knock point is where it fits me, from there it’s easy peasy
I like this fellow's videos: very clear, no attitude, knowledgeable and planned out. I shot indoor and outdoor target competition back in the 90s (original 2 finger Stanislawski back tension, Toxonics, aluminum arrows on a Pearson Pro Classic round wheel w. long stab.... the old days). He explains well and if I feel a need to replace the supplied WB on a PSE Stinger 3G for 2012, I will consider this rest.
@crazed20000 I have had mine out in single digits and it worked just fine. Rain and sleet can be a hinderance if it is allowed to build up on your rest or cord.
both are similar in design and function. I still prefer the Ripcord because I have shot it so long and never had a problem. Time will tell if the Medusa is as reliable
I am glad you mentioned turning cockfeather out because I shoot a PSE madness xs and alway have had issues with shooting cockfeather up but when i turn out ooooohhhheeeey she shoots nice and straight no fish tail what so ever.
@TheTxtreeman It sounds like your rest is not dropping quick enough. I have little experience with fobs so this maybe a question directed at Starrflight.
Yes, on the riser it does not make contact even, so the front of the launcher arm is higher than the back of the launcher. It is basically making contact at an angle
I'm getting a Mission Riot for Christmas and was looking at different sights, rest and quivers. Should i get this rest or should i get something else as a starter drop away rest. I pull 50lbs. Thanks.
is there a way to prevent the rest from smacking on the bow when its released or should it be putting the brakes on before it gets that low?? with my center shot set up properly on my viper v7 the left fork on the rest (as if looking down sights) is making contact when released.
@ikesoutdoors alright thanks, thats what i did, made a world of difference.Hopefully my buddy doesnt get too pissed when he notices the piece of felt i sniped off his poker table. be cool if the guys at ripcord maybe looked into making a silenced style internal brake system. i guess it is one of the more quiet ones already but that would still be sweet.
These rip cord rest when I shoot my arrow through I notice I'm having some marks, scratches on the right side of u shape rest where arrow sits, its like the arrow or veins are slightly hitting the side of the rest before it drops away, is that normal?,a pro shop did install ,plus I'm new to archery thanks...
I just bought a new bowtech assassin and i bought some fobs. The guy at the shop that is going to set up my bow has never heard of a fob. He is putting on this code red for me. is there any suggestions and or experience with this rest and setting it up for fobs that i should tell the old timer ? Are the fobs actually that good ? thanks
Hi Ike, I'm having trouble in tuning my code red on my Destroyer 350. It seems I can't bring it down enough so it doesn't hit the shelf and the arrow stays under or alined with the burger holes. Do you know if this particular bow has that problem? I've send you an email with photos but didn't got an answer yet. hope you can help me.
I have a question, I just got a code red and I have a diamond sb 1. The problem I have is the rest does not fit flush on the riser. Will this contact the vanes??? If so what is the solution
Ike's Outdoors yes it does make contact with the shelf, the problem is the frontside of the launcher arm makes more contact with the shelf than the back of the launcher arm. So it is hitting the shelf at an upwards angle. So I am just worried that the angle will cause the launcher to make contact with the vanes
if that is too short for his bow, then explain the use of extended draw rest where the tip of the arrow is 4 inches behind your hand, and besides, he wasn't even shooting. keep your opinions to your self.
@bluegrasssingingman looks fine to me too... even if it is to short or hanging out 8" too long who cares hes setting up a rest not arrow length mr obvious... I get so fucking tired of people that write stupid ass one liner comments on good informational videos nice vid by the way!
To all of you that are saying the rests are a POS. Don't knock them They just are not for you. Just like me with my Hoyt bow. I love my Vicxens. and I don't like Matthews. There are those out there that like Matthews and not Hoyt. It is all personal choice.
Lol, u ain’t got a clue what you doing! 😅…… press the string in the buss cable , draw bow back so it takes the slack it needs , serve it in! Done! Throw that damn football clamp in the trash please
