OK - Here are some ideas for you: 1) Flat Tires - I added Slime Strips between the tire & tube and reduced my flats by over 50%!!! 2) Tents - In the US, there is a company called TarpTent. Their tents are super light weight. They will allow you to have a larger tent at lower weight than your current tent. 3) Stoves - I used air adjustable Alcohol stoves. They are very light and alcohol is widely available. In the US, we have a product called HEET Dry Gas, that you put in the cars gas tank to remove water. It is mainly Alcohol and available at gas stations... For what you are cooking, you would use ~30ml per day... 4) Water Removal - I use a automotive sheepskin chamois to wipe down wet tents/bike seat/wet clothes to remove water. Chamois soak up 10x their weight in water!!! When they get dirty, wash them is normal soap... 5) Water bag verses Water Bottles - I carried a 1.5 gallon/~6L water bag with a Camelback valve for bike hydration and it also had a sprinkling head for showers. I would warm the water for showers... 6) Power Generating Hubs - There are front wheel hubs that generate power when coasting down hills/coming to a stop. You push the button and they generate power. You might generate more power than your solar panel... Enjoy!!! - Bob

Thanks for your comment! I already checked out the tarp tents but I didn't choose another tent yet. And about the tires.... yeees, I should definitely try your slime hack!

I use Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires. My experience, after almost 100.000 km, is that with these tires, you get about one flat tire for every 10 to 20.000 kms you ride... that's extremely good performance in my humble opinion.

Sleeping pad and solar charge are in promotion right now :) Tent is really a bit too small. There’s decent 100€ 2P trekking tents on decathlon. I prefer hammock camping - if there aren’t trees around I can set up the bug net and tarp according to my needs. More fiddly, but much more versatile. Decathlon insulated pad is wonderful too. Cookset isn’t awful, but wider pots are more versatile, boil faster and use less fuel. I like the Trangia stuff, and I don’t even take half of it sometimes.

An impressive gear list - you've definitely pared it down, finding exactly what you need. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures! It's fun to see the DaVinci Resolve titles, too - I knew immediately what software you were using. Strapping the cook kit directly to the fork was brilliant - I'm going to have to try that, too!

Hi dear Giant Cheerio. I'm asking myself: how do you wash your clothes? And who keeps an eye on your bags, when you go away from your bike (groceries, seeing something...)? Thank you for your help and your videos are really inspiring! Elena
@giantcheerio
@giantcheerio Год назад
Hey Elena! I handwash my clothes whenever I can. As I don't have that much stuff it's pretty easy to keep my clothes clean. Sometimes I also use laundries along the way. When going grocery shopping I lock my bike outside. But besides the grocery shopping I never leave the bike unattended

Hi 👋, Thanks for the video. Just wanted to say something about your stove, you can buy a small adapter for it, in order to use it with different types of gas bottles and different standards of the thread. Just type " camping stove adapter " and you will find, you will save some space in your equipment. It doesn't matter how expensive or cheap your equipment, the best equipment is that you have at the moment with you. Good rides 👍

Totally get the Sea to Summit X series stuff! I’ve got the X-pot, X-bowl, X-mug, and the X-storage cup (that one has a screw on lid) which I use for wild berries along the way. Also JetBoil makes the Stash system that’s super small and does everything you need. Use them all together and you can make a multi course meal in the middle of nowhere. Keep it up, and as always, Ride Hard & Ride Safe.
