After decades of focusing on 1000cc Superbikes and big adventure bikes, I finally had the chance to do some miles on a mid sized road bike.
While not known for high performance, the Braaap Moto4 turns out to be a fun little motorbike to play around on that will do more than commute you from home to work or to cafes on the weekend.
This video is about how we set up the Moto4 and what to do to make sure the bike could handle some sporty riding on ranges and even small racetracks.
The updates we made to this bike included these:
- Aero pack (winglets and aero mirrors)
- Metzeler Sportec M9RR tyres
- Gearing +1 Tooth on front sprocket
- RHK Gold O-Ring chain
- Slip on muffler
- Change brake fluids to high temp version - Motul RBF600

Ive had my moto4 since May. Did you ride it with the stock wheels first? Im still running stocks on mine, even had a wheel balance but that still didnt fix the vibrating/shaking in the bike in speeds above 60kmph. Definitely comes from the tyres, or something to do with the wheels, i havent had the money to get new tyres bit when i do im hoping it fixes the shaking, as it makes me nervous to corner more so im losing out on its potential i think. Also looks very quick in the first couple videos, i wonder how much difference the upgrades actually make for me.

Ive not had any issues at all with rims or other fittings, but I immediately replaced the tyres with a decent set. Now running the Metzeler M9RRs which I know are very good and more suitable for faster riding than the ones that come fitted. As you'd expect, some savings are made on fitting low cost options at the factory so I'd be replacing them asap to be honest.

Hey mate do you have any recommendations about how I should ride the moto4 when I first receive it? I have never bought a new motorcycle before.

If this is about the running in etc, then simply follow the guide in the manual for the bike. Personally, I believe in riding it nice and easy for first 500 kilometres before you really start revving it out. Just normal riding is fine. Enjoy.

I have no idea lol, we haven't been able to get this onto a full size track yet, waiting for the Townsville track to open for track days.

I got mine from AMX Superstores in Australia. Anyone who sells RHK Gold chains will have a suitable 520 product.

@@rahul4167 not a problem, just remember the bike is really good for commuting and was essentially made for that, if you do want to do some more sporty riding the bike needs a few things done to it. Enjoy
