thanks for the video, does this extender create a new SSID? or it is using the same SSID of the router?

Great, one thing, tho. Once I connect my AC1200 to the network, should I tell the PS5 and PC in the studio (far away from the router) to get connected to AC1200 or is it something that happens automatically? Does the PS5/PC simply see a stronger network? You are the best.

Heya :) Generally they won't select the best. They will try hang onto the network it's connected to. You need to force the connection and see what the best speed is

If a new phone connects to the extender, will it be able to connect to main one too, without manually keying in the details

That's the problem with extenders and routers. Generally they will hold until the signal breaks and then only cross over. But you won't have to manually keep putting in details. It's different ssids so only need to connect once

Can I use the ethernet connection for me to connect to the mi extender? I like to connect my ethernet cord from my main router to the extender, does the mi extender still provide internet connection, or does it work?

Heya. Unfortunately with extenders, that's how they generally work. I'll check if there have been any changes, but this is why mesh is the way forward

my device says that it has strong connection at first but disconnect after a while and I need to turn it on and off again it's getting tedious, can I do something about it?

Best advice is ensure all your drivers are up to date. It makes a massive difference. Extenders have great use but this is why mesh is superior (but also more costly) Just check where the signal is coming from. I'm sure it will be drivers. If all else fails wipe completely and start from scratch

Not sure I understand the question. They are connected. So if you talking about in a networking environment yes. If you worried about security, that will depend on encryption

Hey there, I would recommend you run a cable to the first extender then you connect the second extender to the first one. I wouldn't recommend doing a 3 chain connection wireless. The connection will be very slow.

Hey it's all the same app. Just needs to be the same region. But I think you need to share access (family share ) to have multiple phones control

Heya. I don't have the device anymore so can't check. But 2.4 is the base signal. Best is to blend them and let the device decide what is best. Also remember this is just a repeat of a signal. If you want more specific changes you need a mesh system

Heya My advice is within 10-20 Meters (sometimes more). It honestly just depends how thick and what your walls are made of. I have thick cement walls so I am at around 12 in a triangle

I am having trouble with getting the extender to connect to my TP Lnk router. its a dual-band 5ghz and 2.4ghz router running DD-WRT. Using the Mi home app it reaches the final step and then fails.

Hi. I have succesfully connected the wifi on my router but failed to connect the next day. I'm having difficulty connecting I have tried couple of times and it say connection time out.

Heya So this generally means a communication error generally attributed to firmware. Either update the firmware and if you have already, then try roll it back. First step is ensure both router and extender are up to date then use process of elimination. First roll back your extender then if that fails roll back router. But before doing the above, do a general restart of both and then a factory reset of both. It's comm error and will be solved with these processes

Heya. That's very dependent on proximity to main router and primary strength. If you are doing serious online gaming where ping and packets are important, this is not the best option.

hey man could you help me out? i have the mi wifi extender pro and it just doesnt show up when it searches for nearby devices. ive tried everything and i just cant get it to work. also when i scan the qr in the manual it doesnt work..

Hmm that is odd. Have you tried factory reset? There is a slim chance maybe the product was used and setup before. Without seeing or knowing exactly, I can only guide generically

@@WootDini i tried everything and nothing worked. i returned it and when i did even the shops employees couldn’t get it to work 😅 so i guess it was a manufacturing error from xiaomis end

my repeater (Xiaomi N300) is limiting speed to 10MB even though my connection is 300MB and the repeater is next to the router, I don't know if it's some extra configuration

Hey Not that I'm aware of. Is it a static 10mb ? That is odd. It's possible that is all your main router is feeding the repeater

@@WootDini It's not 10mb static, it varies between 7/8/9mb, and it's not because there's a wall or obstacle, as I tested it next to the router. I tested it on 2 different routers and different internet providers (I have two connections from different providers at home as a backup) and it still doesn't work. Maybe I was unlucky to get a defective unit, but for me it didn't work.

@@Dimitrisplsysgames need to get it into the gym to pump some iron. No steroids as that is cheating. Jokes. Best way to get clearer signal is to update firmware and if that does not work, change it's location, there may be interference depending on the thickness of walls etc

Hey thanks for the video tutorial however i have had endless technical issues get the device to work Followed tour instruction all good device connects to the wifi etc signal good as per app. However when trying to connect to it via wifi no cable setup keeps say you can connect to xtended wifi but there is no internet. Any thoughts how to get thia thing qorking trying now for 3 months fafing with the devices i ahve 2 to setup to extend the wifi range

5g network as in mobile network? WiFi bands are different from mobile networks. But your original router needs to have the signal for the extender to put out 5g

Depends on the distance between device, router and extender, level of interference and source (ISP) bandwidth. Realistically, if you're standing right next to your router and getting wireless bandwidth of > 500MB/s then you can expect, wth an optimum setup, to get 30-40% of that bandwidth from the extender. Where AC1200 helps more is the 5ghz antennae which can accomodate more devices and is less succeptible to overcrowding than 2.4ghz (23 channels vs 11)

Perfect comment. You will not get better results than the primary routers output because it's absorbing and regurgitating the signal. The only way it becomes the same is if you running it through ether

@@WootDini Only to some extent, unfortunately. I am trying (right now, which is why I stumbled on the video) to connect the extender to my Samsung A14 5G's 5Ghz tethering but it won't work. While my other phone connects to that no issue, it'll get stuck on the last portion of the setup... I guess it has to do with phone's 5Ghz being weird as hell.
