This clock electronically imitates the organ music. It is pleasant to hear. Soon after the music ends it must be followed by number of hours that sounds either like small dome shaped bell or thick and hard coiled wire. A musical clock that plays music and then strikes the hours makes people to understand time when people are not seeing the clock. But a musical clock that only plays music without striking the hours just gives warning that an hour has passed.
I know some Seiko and Rhythm clocks released in Japan have that exact feature, but they are surprisingly few and far between. Most musical clocks are just like this one: they play music, and that’s about it. If you want striking, you have to get one with electronic Westminster chimes, as those clocks will almost ALWAYS strike following the chime at the top of the hour. I do agree, however, that having a strike following the music would be MUCH better for telling the time without looking at the clock. After all, that’s what Westminster chimes were SUPPOSED to do when they were invented more than a century ago. It seems we’ve taken a step backwards for the sake of keeping costs low, and it’s very sad. And for the sake of entertainment, too, as apparently the music-which is purely for entertainment purposes-is more important than the century old practice of striking the hour. AND THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT OF HAVING SOUND ON A-you know what? Screw it. No clock company is going to listen to a random guy on RU-vid, so I’ll just save my breath.
@@mbcommandnerd Some clocks that don't show the dancing moments like splitting dials, dancing animated figures and flashing lights while playing melody counts the hours after the melody is over as Ajanta and Sakana clocks do. But they don't play Westminster chime but they play 12 different tunes of traditional English songs each songs for each hour which sounds like small tuned set of bells and strikes the number of hours that sounds like either shorter and longer chiming rods simultaneously struck as chord strokes or thick and hard coiled wire that almost sounds like large church bell. Such clocks or these clocks? Which type is costlier?
Man, this must be freaking RARE!!! This is the only video I’ve seen of this clock, and MY GOD THE MOVEMENTS ARE INSANE!!! Also, SETH THOMAS!? Since when did they make clocks like this?
Thank you for uploading a video of this clock! I've seen it before, but I couldn't find any videos of it anywhere!!! (There is also a ballet version of this clock) c: c: c:
