I have a 30 qt SetPower freezer/fridge and a little more space in my rig. What works great for me is to use my SetPower in freezer mode and also have a small standard cooler for refrigerated items. In addition to the SetPower holding frozen foods, it always has 3 refreezeable gelpacks in there at any given time. So 3 frozen gelpacks are in the standard cooler "fridge" keeping the refrigerated items cold and when they melt are swapped out for the 3 frozen gelpacks from the Setpower freezer. No ice melt mess and saves money from having to buy ice. I realize this is probably not practical for you but for people with a little more room in their rigs this works great.

Thank you for the detailed review. A mobile refrigerator is on my wish list but truly I had no idea where to start. I had never heard of SetPower but your family’s track record with the product is encouraging. I have a Jeep & gathering supplies for camping.

What an excellent review. I don't need a fridge but watched the whole video. Bunny, look into therma cooking "Haybox" cooking. While at Basecamp it might be fun to use that old fridge as your Haybox. Do some experiments. I've watched some videos on it along with wonderbag cooking. I'm going to use and old cooler along with an old quilt and see if I can cook a stew. Be fun if you tried it too.

Definitely worth the wait! I’m very excited to be able to put this in the van for the upcoming adventures! It also might give me an option because it is slightly less tall than my last one to be able to lower my bed just a little bit I haven’t decided fully if that’s what I wanna do but it is an option now

Howdy! I have a setpower fc20 been running 2 1/2 years! I use it while at home base like while shopping. Then on trips I pre make meals and can also buy meals. For me I use gallon size freezer bags to make it easy to organize etc. Happy trails to y'all

I have used both a SetPower and an Alpicool both have been very good. However, I feel as though the design of the SetPower is a bit more rugged and can take a bit more when it comes to the bumps of the road. Their designs are a little bit more durable and the textured finish definitely keep things from slipping as much. I also like the compressor on these a bit more because it seems to run, more consistently over continued use. My original SetPower I had in my van for the first layout of my van, which was a considerable amount of time if I could’ve found a way to fit it into my new orientation of the build, I would have however since I could not I had already purchased a smaller refrigerator when I first started out before I knew what I needed and so I just put that one in. At that time set powered in the offer a smaller fridge, so I thought this would work out well and it did however, I was very excited whenever I found out that Setpower now has smaller ones. My parents have the super big fridge freezer. I also have a video on my channel about that one, and it is huge, but also runs very efficiently, considering how big it is. Very pleased with this brand as a whole.

I really like the color too. It’s very different than their standard colors that they have a most of the units. I think it’ll be a nice pop of color in my van under the bed.

I think we all have access to these items at a local grocery store or at home or in our spaces already so being able to physically be able to see these items in use is sometimes easier than trying to envision height or width by measurement alone.

I agree about a plug cover. All it takes is a little moisture dirt, and the whole thing is screwed up. You mentioned this when you were talking about a power station and the rust that happened I had the same thing happened. All companies if they plan on marketing to people on the road should consider covers.

Absolutely! This is something that I also feel is important, because being in a vehicle, we have a lot more variables, including dirt, and dust from the outside, but also moisture.

I have one too. Good news, I"m able to keep ice cream, meat and chicken frozen and on low wattage. the bad news is, customer support sucks, big time.

This one is a little bit small for me and my daughter but I really like the way that it doesn’t pull a huge amount of power. And when you asked us if we could hear the compressor, it was very quiet.

Absolutely! That’s one of the things I really like about SetPower is that it isn’t a louder running fridge. I’ve seen a lot of people say that when the compressor kicks on it feels like it’s vibrating their vans and I’ve been fortunate in that has never been this scenario I have experienced. But this one seems to be even quieter than usual.

Absolutely for a smaller fridge. I can still put a sizable amount of things in here and that’s perfect for what I need. Having a larger fridge has pros and cons whenever you travel individually. Sometimes it’s great because you can have a lot more things in there however also sometimes things fall to the bottom and then you forget things are in there lol with a smaller space you pack with intention, and typically end up using all of the things in a more timely manner.

I have the older version of the same size set power that you have. It works great sadly I do not have a van yet. I live in South Florida and use it when traveling locally through the state or in case of hurricane power outages. I use it with my jackery . Thanks for the great review! Sometimes we don’t necessarily always have to have all the pieces put together to be able to still use something. I know that a lot of things that I use now in my van I actually used previously in my tent camping just within my car or space.

Always appreciate your thorough reviews! I am looking forward to testing (and using) my BougeRV fridge/freezer next week. Although Im traveling in a minivan full time, I choose the 35L model for versatility: I can run it as Fridge, freezer or both simultaneously. The freezer is important because one of my priorities is reasonably healthy eating, so I can at least have some frozen vegies. Prime Day sales were a big help with the purchase price!

I just try to use a common sense approach to how I share things because there are a lot of technical videos out there, but sometimes the technical specs don’t necessarily translate into reality of use, because our spatial awareness as many times tied to things as opposed to a tape measure. So I like to share the things that I can put in it because I think that’s a little bit more relatable sometimes.

Nice real life demonstration! Much appreciated. Being able to visualize versus reading specifications is more useful for me, for sure. Kudos to SetPower for the guide to the error codes! For manuals, I download them for offline viewing for as many products as I am able.

I feel there are so many super technical videos out there but being able to visualize the space is sometimes much more reasonable to the average mind. This is how i perceive the world in way of things so i know others are like me in that regard sometimes. So common sense sizing using common products we all can tangibly touch and feel is a way I like to share things so people can truly understand the size and then the demonstration with a power station is always something that is important in my opinion because so many van dwellers do use these and need to know if they will be able to sustain something like a fridge without having to hardwire to a solar system.

Thanks for showing this 15qt (or it 15 liters) fridge. In my Ram PMC cargo minivan I have a Dometic CF25, that I’m not thrilled with because of price compared to other 12v fridges and it’s more of a higher deep fridge when I would prefer a lower chest style like yours. Figure it will die in a few years so I’m putting my travel stickers on it (of course that means it will now work/last for decades 🙃).

I have a Dometic CFX28, and I hate it. It’s too deep, and the lid opens lengthwise needing more height clearance. I’ve been looking for a smaller fridge like the one in this unboxing.

Yes!!! And the longer I used it post it reaching the optimum temp the less it drew... i had it running at around 20 watts during its cycle following the temp drop then it would cycle even lower when the compressor was not having to run

Question between the FC15 & the version that is 2.5” taller & would give 5.2 quarts more in space, does it just not fit under your bed storage?

I’ve never had this issue I would definitely reach out to the company customer support immediately and let them know what’s going on. I’ve noticed that they have amazing customer support so by letting them know what’s going on. This should be the quickest solution to either being able to figure out how to reset it, or potentially getting a replacement. Just make sure whenever you reach out that you give them a detailed account as to what’s going on and if possible, even send them an email with a video showing them what you have experience or what you are trying to do so that they can help you troubleshoot. This is always been how I have handled things and it’s always been extremely helpful for a quick response.
