I would recommend an 18x18x24 exo Terra, or a 20 gallon long on its side! (Or something even bigger!)

@@EmmaLynneSampson ok. Thank you so much! That is what I personally was going to decide. I had seen that a lot of people were saying a 12x12x18 but I personally felt that they needed bigger. But I had also heard that they wouldn't eat if their cage was to big so I didn't know if it would be bad to give them something bigger. Thanks for your help! 😊

I found my crestie actually started eating better when I moved him to a bioactive 18x18x24 exo terra terrarium vs the 10 gallon on its side with a couple fake plants I used for him as a baby, in which he barely ate and grew so slowly... As soon as I moved him he started eating like crazy and growing like a weed. While a large bare enclosure would be stressful, and an overcrowded enclosure might make it hard for them to find the food depending on where you put it, I wouldn't say juvenile crested geckos need a tiny enclosure... While mine was past the new baby stage when I moved him he was by no means full grown, and he loved it and still does!! I think the important thing is watching how your individual gecko responds... If my gecko decided not to eat in a large enclosure and changing the setup and food placement did not help, I would have downsized; but that was not my experience at all.

@@snake_noodle5781 there are these things called tank conversion kits where you order it online and then attach it to the top of a normal tank. Then you can turn the 20 gallon tank in its side and since you used the kit it now acts as a front opening tank. Just Google Tank conversion kits and it should pop up.

I have an entire video taking about UVB lighting for chameleons, so I’d definitely suggest watching that. Also, a chameleon climbing on you is not a sign that they like it. It’s a sign that they are scared of something and are trying to get away from it by climbing up things. If he’s climbing onto your hand from his enclosure - that means that he is not happy in his enclosure and is trying to escape. A chameleon should be very happy and relaxed in their enclosure. And if he’s still a baby, he should not be eating large crickets. Those are far too big, only feed small ones. Also do not feed mealworms to a chameleon. They have a hard time digesting them
