L&D nurses are built different man. I spent 3 weeks in L&D before my preemie twins were born and those nurses were angels. I mentioned to my husband once we were home that I almost missed being in the hospital and he said “no, you just miss the nurses, they were amazing and became your friends.” Thank you for being so wonderful!!

Because that first pee after birth is terrifying too. Literally feels like everything will drop out of u. Im currently pregnant with my second child. A boy and im so excited for delivery. I had my first shower after my second c section 4 months back and in India we have attendants instead of nurses helping us. Mine was a 45 year old lady who had grown up kids and she assured me that she has my back if I am scared about falling and she rubbed soap on my legs and back because my stitches still hurt so I could not bend. She also helped me dress into fresh clothes and that shower felt like heaven! So so grateful to her ❤️

Honestly, don't worry she probably wasn't grossed out in the least. After you've seen it all a million times a little (or a lot of) blood is nothing to get panties in a bunch about. She probably washed up changed her scrubs and ate her lunch lol. I admire and respect L&D nurses so much. I only have a couple specialties on the no way list, peds/neonatal and L&D/OBGYN. This could’ve really helped me if they would’ve helped bc I could never get around to it until I was about to leave. Except for my last time. I got 2 in. I always just stayed right on my bed . No nurses ever did this for me with any of my 4 kids! How nice of you to help with this!! It was so cold in the shower and my towel was so small I would have loved having some help

Man, I truly wish I had a nurse like you when I was giving birth to my 2nd child. His birth was so traumatic, the staff treated me so badly/didn't care. Would have been so nice to have someone who actually cared and was supportive 😭 I'm too scared to even step into a hospital to birth again. My last 2 babies have been born at a birthing center and it was a lovely experience but sometimes you need a hospital and i just wish all staff were like you 😔

L&D nurses are angels. Gave birth alone and was in the hospital alone but I never felt like it because they took such great care of us

Istg L&D nurses are literal godsends. When I first gave birth they were angels, and the second time too. They were on standby every step of the way and I love em all for that ❤

Omg that first shower was amazing, and even more so because I wound up having to have a C-section and couldn't shower for over 24 hours. I felt so grungy.

I was in an L&D unit for 15 weeks prior to a stillbirth. The nurses truly became my friends (truly one of them still is to this day,) and they really made my stay and the loss of my baby so much easier. What you’re doing means so much!

I’m almost wanting to do L&D because I had such a horrible experience with nobody batting an eyelash in my direction, I would love to make a mother feel comfortable, and seen during her stay

I can agree with needing a shower almost immediately, only have one people nugget so far. L&D nurses are so patient and caring. As a terrified new mom I was all over the place. They were right there with me the whole way.

I have 3 kids and at each delivery the L&D nurses are what made all the difference. As the person who just gave birth, you are at your most vulnerable and also the most needy. To have those women show that extreme level of compassion, kindness, and willingness to help in LITERALLY every circumstance was so amazing and I was grateful beyond words.

I'm not pregnant (nor do I have any intention of becoming pregnant until I'm married) but I hope and pray I have a nurse like you. I'm a really anxious person and I know I'll be worried about everything and probably crying a lot.

I’m glad you help all those moms when they are ready to take a shower. I had a bad experience when I delivered my baby the nurse made me get a shower right after giving birth because she said I had to get “cleaned”. She didn’t even help me I was all alone. I lost a lot of blood because of that and she even told the other nurses it was my idea.

She not wrong. After delivery the young lady that helped me was so patient and kind I felt so embarrassed feeling as weak as I did to where I needed help just standing up right at first but after she helped me to the shower to wash up it felt so nice. Like it's indescribable how nice it felt and it does revitalize you and your sore body.
