thanks a lot for taking the time to make this very helpful vid. This subject is always a bit more difficult when starting with CP helis. I think you will have helped many people with this, I also always make sure blades are perfectly balanced and blade tracking is correct.

Hi, I’ve read the manual for your radio. I’d suggest setting up the pitch curve in NORM mode as you have it i.e. -2 degrees to +11 degrees and setup the range in IDLE UP to be -11 to +11 for acrobatic and more aggressive flying. I would setup the pitch curve for HOLD to be the same as IDLE UP as this helps you check the pitch on the blades without the worry of starting up the motor and is also set for autorotation in the event of a motor failure while flying. Hope this helps, happy flying!

On some flybarless heads you can get a 'T' piece that screws into the top if the head that you can sight against, similar to a flybar. You can also use a pitch gauge with a bubble gauge built in and use that to make sure that the bubble is dead center when the gauge is set at zero pitch (you need to makesure the body of the heli is level too for this to be accurate). Search for a video called 'Zero pitch on a flybarless helicopter using a pitch gauge' which may be useful. Hope this helps.

This is a Belt CP V1 helicopter, it's been heavily modified in the two years I've had it. You can still get them from lots of online and local hobby shops for less than $200. The transmitter is a Spektrum DX7, a very good 2.4Ghz programmable, 7 channel radio. Google them and you'll find out lots for both the heli and transmitter..

@craigyv513, thanks for the comment. It's always good to hear that one fo the videos has helped another flyer. On the subject of the tendancy of a heli to drift left.. There are three common ways to counter the drift to the left that comes the tail rotor - 1) Correct using the cyclic when flying 2) Tilt the swash slightly to automatically counter the drift 3) Use the trim on the transmitter to correct for this 3 is the best option. You can change it easily on the fly..

Tiazi666, the main gear I used was the MX-400 main gear. A easy swap out and much much stronger than the stock part. Thanks for the positive comment.

@danda00, Have you changed something? If you are using a computer transmitter then increase the value of the pitch mix in the Swash Mix menu to get more pitch. If you have the stock transmitter make sure both the shoulder controls are at 12 o'clock and the ball links on all the servo arms are 12mm or farther away from the servo pivot. (I used 12mm) If the arms on the servos are too short then they can't move the swash enough. The servos shouldn't be binding on a simple swash move.

Just like to say this bid has helped me so much. Just bought a honey bee cp3 as my first 6ch heli. Followed your video and got the same readings for both blades. But can't quite figure out my swash plate. Been told because of tue nature of a heli it will try drift left on take off ad the swash should have a slight downward angle from left to right. Does this mean anything to you. The forums contradict a bit on the subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how do I measure the pitch on my new "flybarless" heli, when there is nothing to "sight" the Gage against?

How to do it in normal hovering mode. I am looking for the pitch, lower the throttle -2 and full throttle +11. I have KDS K7XII Transmiter and KDS 450SV Heli. one more question when we do these settings, in transmiter the Throtle hold should be ON or OFF (near to us or far from us). Thanks & Best Regards.
