Let’s get your MEATER Block set up on WiFi so you can monitor your cook virtually ANYWHERE.
• Charge your probes for 8 hours for the initial charge; the probes charge when the Block is OFF.
• Download the MEATER app.
• Make sure Bluetooth, Locations, and any other required permissions are enabled.
• Make sure the Block is within your router’s range.
• Select the network on 2.4 gHz, not 5g
- If the option isn’t there, it’s likely auto-assigning to 2.4 gHz.
• Keep the Block close to the probe(s) when cooking to keep the Bluetooth connection, but also within your WiFi network’s range.
• To switch WiFi networks, make sure your phone is on the new network you’d like to be on, then go through “Setup WiFi” on the Block and follow the instructions.
Now you can cook your meals and stay connected over WiFi!
Let’s meat up!

My wife purchased this for me for Christmas and I was so excited. I was ready to improve my cooking. At first it work great and I was on my way of enjoying my food. But here is the problem the probes started not working properly and one of them broke and I did not even have them a year and for the amount of money they should of lasted longer.

I have the Meater and it's one of the best things I've ever had. I wish you guys made a dedicated over thermometer because I have never owned an oven that gets to the temp I set it at without modification. Sometimes I grab a potato and put the Meater in it while preheating my oven.

You need to support 5GHz on newer models. Also if you run an Advanced IP Scan the Manufacture it shows as 'Apption Labs Limited', it should show MEATER to make it more obvious. When Connection Lost the app doesn't have a refresh option. This will happen if the block was turned off & you forgot to tap 'Use Wi-Fi'.

Works well in standalone but I have never been able to connect the block and probes to my phone. 2:14 onward simply isnt an option on the app that is presented to me. UGh.

When will Meater address the network latency issues in the current firmware? I have 2 and both experience the same high latency and ping loss. Tested with multiple access points from different vendors so clearly there is a bug in the firmware.

When is a USB C version coming out? Micro USB is a deal breaker

Hi! Unfortunately, this is not something that we are able to offer at the moment. However, I’ll be happy to forward this suggestion to our developers to see if this is something we can add in the future :)

@@MEATER thanks. $350 for an antiquated port is not something that can be justified. The product has been out for several years now, and the entire electronics industry has moved to USB-C in that time. Even the new iPhones will have it. When you adopt it, you'll have a new customer 👍

@MEATER +1 here, plus make it recharge lithium battery instead of 4 batteries. Just charge it, I understand batteries are easier to ship instead of Lithium. Las point: I would love a version with 2 probes instead of 4.

Thanks for the video. Very good explained. I m already cooking a while with the meater. Now, sometimes I have still problems to trust the meater because of that: Wifi is set, cooking in process ok, for example a oven roasted piece of meat. Manytimes it happens, that the meater nails loose wifi, being right beside the oven. I did a test with one piece of meat, using 2 nails in that piece of meat. No 1 worked all the way throught the cooking process, No 2 lost wifi after 15 min. and never connected again. How can that happen?

Connection issues like this almost always happen because of cooking residue on the numbered, ambient tip of the probe, creating a barrier between the probe and the charging contact on the Block. Even if the probe looks totally clean, there might be a thin layer of clear grease polymerization that won’t come off with just soap and water, but can keep the probe from charging. Usually, MEATER users have been able to resolve this with the following steps: Pour a mixture of baking soda and warm water on the rough side of a sponge, and scrub the probe vigorously until all of the stainless steel sections are completely silver. Pay special attention to the flat metal square at the ambient end. You can check out our cleaning video here, and a comparative image here: For especially persistent residue, gently cleaning the ambient end with a fine-grain sandpaper can also work to clear the remaining residue. Wipe the contact points on the Block (the silver prongs holding the probe) with a dry cloth in case any residue transferred over. Once you’ve done the steps above, let the probe charge for at least 8 hours.

@@MEATER That was not really the problem. Temp. Nail N° 2 went offline after a certain time. Temp Nail N° 1 did not. The cleaning and maintenance are always as the product manual recommends up to date.

For the price I'm not happy with this product. The probes drop out all the time even with the block right next to the BBQ. Have followed the advise to clean the probes and make sure they are charged up. Which brings the attention to another issue, there is no way of knowing if the probes are charged or what level of charge they are at. You also can't tell if they are charging. Again for the price this generation should have had all this sorted.
