Quick demonstration on how to configure the Digital I/O and UO/UI signals on a FANUC Robot controller to communicate with an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation ControlLogix or CompacLogix Controller. This example is based on an R30-iA controller and an L63 processor. Not all configuring steps are shown. Consult the appropriate FANUC and Rockwell documentation.

Yes, the model of the PLC should not be a problem. You may want to download the FANUC Robot AOP. It makes the module configuration on the PLC easier for the newer robot controllers. Good luck!

I know that Rack # 92 is the communication reference for CC-Link. Best to contact FANUC for support on a detailed setup.

One question, what capacity do the ethernet ports of the FANUC robots have?

I'm not sure. You'd have to verify that with FANUC based on the specific model and version of the robot controller. I think all the new models support Gigabit communications. The older ones are probably 10/100Mbps. Having integrated vision may provide other speeds.

I'm not sure. As long as you have Ethernet IP communication on the MLX1400 you should be able to configure it. It'll be more difficult to determine the MSG settings and Bit: addresses, but there is probably documentation available from FANUC. Good luck! Let me know how it worked out!

Agreed. They do offer a class now that covers integration of A-B controllers with FANUC robots. Check their training website.

@@distorsioname I do not have any OMRON equipment available. I'm sure if you reach out to FANUC or OMRON they will have some support materials available.
