I keep looking at this but I’d forget to take it off the roof when I drive home - also we like to have WiFi available on the move - there are lots of information on RU-vid about people flat mounting it on their motorhome roof which look good. Also getting it to work on 12v without an inverter and also ditching the starlink router for a 5v usb powered one. There is also a video of a guy making an outside cable plugin point (like a barbecue gas point) which is an option. And then there’s the £85 a month fee which if it was 50% it would be a easier decision 👍
Te be fair, we do need a bit of a checklist when we're prepping for moving. I really do like the idea of the wedge mount and permanent mounting/internet with a 12v/5v option, but, as Gill says, it's working at the moment, and we have 5G unlimited on at least one phone (belt, braces and a bit of string), so we can manage until the right deal comes along. Price-wise, I suppose if you're only ever in the UK, it's a tad steep, but, on the flip side, it's pausable, so doesn't have to be £85 a month every month, and, if you're in Europe or further flung places, it's just the same £85 a month - no extra for roaming (with my current cellular provider, it's an extra £3 a day - so Starlink works out cheaper by far).
I’ve just watched the RU-vid of the guy converting a caravan outlet to accommodate starlink - I think it would be quite possible to do with one of the 13amp socket ones - he was then able to shorten the starlink cable to a more sensible length - I can’t paste you a link here but it was on an airstream so probably searchable
Like the reasoning behind using the system and how its fiited , looks like you didn't go for the original idea for roof mounting , what have you used , most of the time we have had a phone signal or on site wifi , but then we dont need the amount of data you probably need
