Go BIG BIG on that floral art! The sizes are too small. Fill that space, you will love it. Make it a focal point. Overlap the lamp for a layered effect. Relocate the other floral art that you painted to another place. Love seeing the space come together! ❤️
Don't worry about getting a swatch... put in a maintenance request to get some touch up paint from them. You provide the container and they should fill it and you just go pick it up. Easy Peasy! 🙂
I was going to suggest the same thing! I’ve even gone to the leasing office with a small jar and they’ve given me paint for touchups. They are usually very appreciative because it shows you are taking care of the place.

All this decorating is truly inspiring me. We've been decluttering and cleaning out our home this week as part of our summer refresh. I'm really enjoying the DIY projects. I do the love rug and the mirror! Also, I agree that it has been too hot this summer, and I love the warm weather.

I love the rug!! I think if you get some pillow covers that are the same color as the ivory in the rug, it will really pull it all together. The rug matches the fringe in the blue pillow on the couch.
I really like the new rug! And the ivory shade works really well with the whole house, I think it especially ties the kitchen and the living room very nicely together!
Love this series following you setting up your new apartment, choosing furnitures, having doubts or issues with some of it. It's real life content, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... not everything is easy or straightforward. Btw the rug is beautiful, I really like it. For the paint on the wall, you can maybe ask the concierge as someone previously commented, or maybe take a look at your lease. The paint colors of the apartment are sometimes in the lease. Looking forward to seeing an other episode of this serie 😉
You could put the other smaller floral print in bedroom. As it don’t look like the new one your thinking of, will match close together. They are both very pretty ❤
That second plant you repotted , I think it’s called an arrow plant ! They do perfect in the bathroom, I have one in the bathroom and it is thriving !! I think it’s the steam
You could always get some regular paint or chalk paint and water it down for a more opaque wash look 😊 it works really well! If you want to inject some colour you could go with a green or blue paint on the mirror and bring colour in that way too as a statement piece.
Suggest you may want to sand down the mirror quite a bit as the areas that were pre sanded look kinda commercial. A suggestion regarding plants/flowers - use live plants and real flowers (dried flowers are good as well). As a decorator I always advise against silk flowers, they gather dust and are standout as such. Keep up the good work and hope you enjoy DC!!
hmmm--- if the existing curtain thingie is magnetic- maybe you can buy some magnetic hooks that would hold the curtain rods- i know they have some heavy duty ones for cruises and stuff that can hold wet towels so might be strong enough for the curtains.... and if you can't find the color you want -you can always spray paint them to match the rod or the black thingie part
Rachel what about switching it up, think about installing wood shelving similar to the same wood color palette as your console. More room for decoration and Several Flower canvases! Just an idea. Your eye for decor is impeccable, anything you choose will be the Chefs Kiss. Have a nice day.
Your apartment maintenance team should be able to give you a small cup of the exact paint used on the walls. I wouldn’t go through the trouble of trying to match it yourself.
Hi. I love your videos. I just wanted to say, you may wish to repot those plants again but add some perlite or coco core for better drainage especially for that fiddle leaf fig for better drainage. Try a 50/50 mix of soil and the perlite or coco core. Your plants will thank you. And you won’t have to worry about killing that beauty of a fiddle by over watering which is what commonly kills them. Hoe this helps. Again great video thanks for all your hard work. 😊
I'm sure she's aware. Some people prefer the look with the stamens in, and not all surfaces stain easily. I've forgotten to take them out a few times and my table was fine.
Hi I nearly forgot, about the plants, apart from watering from the bottom up, I also have a small spray bottle and I give,them a spray they seem to like it and I live in a hot climate too.❤❤

I agree with this. A lot of people hang pieces of art that are small & a bit too high up. Big & low is the way to go, especially with the big beautiful mirror beside it.

Love your beautiful plant, I was told to water the plant in the dish. Meaning to say your big plant put some water into the dish, that way the roots get watered. I do it with my monstera/cheese plant and I feel like it has really grown. Excited for this video, all the house stuff❤❤❤

I love Checker’s! There aren’t as many as there used to be so it’s been a while since we have been. Their fries are so good. They sell them in the grocery store too so we get those occasionally.
I've been so frustrated lately with pintrest too! You can't even choose to not have products now. The other thing that's really annoyed me with home related searches is how majority are AI images now 😑
In my old apartment building we had the giant moving in trolleys like colleges have for dorm move ins… and there were three of them, and they were never available… people would use them for weird things in their apartments… I’m not sure why, but it was very annoying. Eventually I bought a hulken large bag, which holds me and more… and I found a wagon in the same building trash room.. let me tell you, get a wagon if you are a city dweller or apartment dweller… I cannot tell you how many times my wagon has saved me trips and from lifting heavy items.. I just take it to Costco and skip a cart altogether.
Some rugs become lighter in color when viewed from the other side. I doubt this one does, but maybe check the color from the window side? Things are coming together nicely 😊

I found ur channel when u moved to DC and enjoy moving/decorating vlogs but my word you have not had the best luck in your purchases and layout! A few things to consider - when you walk in your apartment it would be nice to see the living area more - swap the couch to the other side - the wall behind where you have it now is too “cluttered” and your not using that area as it should be - why are you hiding that console table and nothing is centered in that area…. This is why your struggling because your trying to put too many things in that small area and it’s not working. Please try it. Also a rug should go under the couch more and utilize a size that will engulf the whole living/seating area. Please try it, you’re always saying what do you guys think! I say all this in kind since we are watching you struggle 😊
