Thank you for sharing this information. I love your boxes, and especially the firepit addition. What a fun idea. Gardening in New England is a challenge due to the lack of soil. We have rocks, sand and boulders, but soil is rare. We created a lasagna garden and also turned an old boat into a garden. It's great because I no longer have to worry about moles and rabbits destroying my vegetables.
That area looks wonderful! Those are sure some nice looking raised beds! Good job! Curious if you have ever tried doing the lasagna gardening method on the surface of the soil with mulched walkways between the mounded rows... or done hulgelkultur on the surface as raised rows or a mound. A friend of mine did it in a mound as a feature and it looks great . Anyway, looks great!
How many times can you steep tea leaves? I've been doing it 3 minutes the 1st time 5 mins the 2nd time & 10 mins the 3rd time... I'd sincerely appreciate your advice.

While I’m not a fan of plastic myself the ground that we covered had a bunch of glass, nails and garbage in it that is much more unsafe than the plastic. We also worked to try and clean it up and improve the soul without getting any where. This was the best option for us at the moment. The logs and top soul will keep the weeds from growing through it and the gravel outside the boxes will keep anything from growing. We have used this cloth every year to kill weeds and it works great.
