I think the zig zag planter, once painted and planted is going to be a one of a kind feature that you won’t want to remove or shorten. I think shortening it would make the house look smaller, as is, it relates to the low and long ranch style of your house. Can’t wait to see how it looks after you work on it! 🌸🌸🌸
Your office is looking so cute! I love it and your desk in front of the window was definitely a great choice. You are going to enjoy looking out the window at all your beautiful garden beds filled with all the wonderful flowers and vegetables that you have chosen to plant. So many good times ahead!😃💞
Janie, your old garden was absolutely beautiful! But I really enjoy watching the development of your new garden and home! You’ll have so much to share with us! 🌼🐝
Good morning, Janey! I am so enjoying seeing your DAILY progress. You have already accomplished so much! This is going to be such a fun journey.💚 Having your office space (that is adorable) and looking out the window overlooking the garden beds is going to be a little slice of heaven very shortly. Well done!!
Love the new office. One suggestion. Maybe angle the desk with your back to the fresh cut flowers sign. You can look out the window and see all your stuff! We all love looking at our stuff. Lol.
Great job! It seems like you got a lot done. I say it’s a win, win type of job. Also Janey we are painting inside our house and I found myself saying to my husband when we talked about colors, and decided we are going with his choice- “it’s fine”, “it’s fine” it’s going to be fine. I like that Janey-ism! I just keep repeating that in my head. 😂😂😂 Thanks!
I appreciate your positive attitude - one step at a time - I see progress at your new home. Your office is coming together and you are fortunate to have this wonderful space.
I feel your pain with the internet. We only have one tower for our small town in Idaho. And now they are adding more house and I don’t know how the one tower is going to handle it. Your office is so pretty Jayne!
Love your office .. it’s perfect and was exactly what you needed !! 🪴🍃 Janey you are a visionary .. and I truly am excited to see how you are going to transform this amazing property. Country living will definitely provide many challenges .. but it will all be worth it !! Enjoy this journey .. I know all of us will 😊🍃
Put some soil on paper plate moist it, sprinkle carrot seeds on it, cover with plastic , put in freezer, when you are ready to plant , just take out from freezer , scattered all over your bed, Cover light with soil, water to grow❤
I was going to suggest Starlink and then lo and behold you shared what Jason got. It works fine and has decent speed most of the time but there are lulls occasionally. Our cable internet does not work out in my cottage so I needed something that would and Starlink, so far, works well enough. You know you are a garden nut when a big pile of compost is the greatest thing! 😂 I am right there with ya. You guys are making excellent progress on it all. So fun!
We signed up for Starlink when they first opened it to our area. We have no access to any services and the other satellite company was awful. Once we received our satellite and set it up (super easy) we have not regretted it. Even in hurricane alley during a light hurricane we maintained service. Hopefully you have the same experience. The office looks great, perfect work space!
I love your office set up, and so excited for you to plant your garden beds but I agree with other followers to give yourself a three or four foot aisle way in-between garden beds so you can have room to use a cart or wheelbarrow, good luck, happy gardening
Janey, I LOVE your office! Actually I love it all and just can’t get over how much potential your new home has! Thanks for being such an inspiration! 🌸
Love what you’ve done with the office. The paint made a huge difference. I would get a small work table that you could use to sow seeds and the like. I would also get a second chair as well so if you decide to do interviews or have a visitor and you don’t want to sit at your desk to talk to them.
I'm a newby to your channel, and I'm absolutely loving it, I loved your garden before, but I'm just so excited to see how you will transform your new garden ❤, I'm so looking forward to it, keep up the great work, ❤
Totally understand not having good internet when we moved 20 mins outside of town. It was a serious struggle especially during peak times when school got out and evenings. We tried everything but realized we were too far from main internet box from the nearest small town. Because we were in between two towns out in the country. I had to work on my online business in town or during those short times it was working. We actually ended moving back into town. Faster internet but miss the 3 acres of beautiful scenery 😢.
First day of school is so exciting! We also have a 5th grader and third grader this year 😊. Hope they all have a great school year. The office is already looking beautiful!
Great video! So much fun watching you get organized. When you said, get used of me changing up what I do. 😂😂😂 you what they say. If you want to make God laugh make plans. We are here to to watch you roll! Enjoy this journey you are on! Hugs from Bakersfield!
Janey, make yourself a piece of PVC sprinkler pipe measuring stick with common dimensions, 4' , 6', 8'. Superior method to string and much faster to measure pathways as one can do it without a helper.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. So excited to watch each day as you turn your new home into your special place. I live and garden on 11/2 acres so I can relate to lots of the problems you are encountering. I have lived and gardened here fifty years, but twelve years ago we had a tornado that ripped out most of my beautiful trees and garden. Luckily, the house was spared, but I had to start over with a blank slate. Love your videos, you and your family!
Planting something that will cascade over the zigzag planter will soften it up, and even vigorous growers will hide a lot of the zigzag. You could use an evergreen like English ivy or others.
If your sprayers in the zig zag are long enough, stick them INSIDE the pots so you don't have all that runoff. They will spray against the plants unless you replace the spray tips with drippers.
When we moved to Placer county near you, we were with AT&T and had very spotty cell service if any.( dropped calls, no bars) We switched to Verizon and the service was much better. Ask your neighbors who they use😊
Hi Janie! I know you’re probably landing on changing the head on the water going to the pots in front of the zig zag but just in case, I would put a drip ring in the pot. This way it waters the roots not from the top😊
“I make plans, and 10 other things happen “. Well, welcome to countryside! 😆 When I get a large pile of compost, I feel RICH. When seeds are germinating, I feel RICH. When I can cut flowers, I feel RICH. When tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other veggies grow, again , you guessed right, I feel rich. I think it’s the hard work, body and soul we put in the work of our gardens and the happiness in little things that makes us happier, more satisfied with muscles and dirt up to our ears. We sleep better, dreaming of walking down beautiful garden paths. We watch RU-vid videos when it’s too dark to be outside and we learn more, discover new things and plants, succeed or fail and all of it makes us better gardeners. And our knowledge is ours to keep, always and that my friend is our wealth. 🌸👩🏼🌾 // Swedish gardener at 58 and 40yrs of trial and error, still curious and still learning. ❤️
Your internet situation is crazy! Isn’t it wild how accustomed we’ve become to internet on demand? I guess you can post videos, etc, from the carpool line? 😂 I love your new office. It’s looking fabulous. Enjoy!
Hi Janey 🌺.A school year full of success for your daughters . You arranged your office beautifully and the carpet looks very nice . Have awonderful day. 🌻🌺🌻
Yay!!! First day of school. I hope the girls had a great day. Oh my goodness! I know exactly what you are going through. I pray your internet works with your satellite. We have just moved and have absolutely no internet in our rural area. We just went to Verizon and got new phones hoping to get a signal on newer phones. And bless your heart on finding things. I'm still trying to figure out where things are or which box I'm my shed they might be in. 😂 I love the flowers you've picked to plant.
Love your attitude when things don't go as planned. Just have to go with the flow, It will all get done, no need to get all stressed out. Good job, looking better every day
Janey, you are doing a fabulous job! I live in the country as well and we battled with no internet connectivity for years. Blugh. It’s tough for sure. Hoping yours is better. I’m really enjoying your videos and watching your progress. One day at a time!!!
Hi Janey! Oh my goodness, the girls are growing up so so fast! I hope they have a great school year 😊 Loving your office the rug and chair are so cute & desk in front of the window is perfect. (I was thinking maybe get another chair ? would look great in case of guest, friends or family join you while filming?!)
That’s a lot of compost! I had 8 yards delivered in May and a good portion is still in the driveway. (LOL ) The game changer for me is my Gorilla cart with the dump truck feature. It makes things go so fast and easy. If you don’t have one, I highly recommend it!
If you embrace the zig in the zag with spectacular color and spillover plantings…treat it like your new “swoop” riot of color against White House, drawing the eye down the driveway toward the front door❣️
That was a productive day, you definitely are getting things set up nicely, I love the rug. Hope you find some pretties for the zig zag planters that will add so much for you to smile about getting some color 😊in the front.
I like to watch a new video each morning as I'm watering my own garden , in between changing sprinklers... you have so much energy, don't take on too much , there's always tomorrow.
I love that and a very good morning to you! Great point, luckily it always feels shocking that I “get” to do this for work so it’s not hard to get motivated 💗💗
The office is going to be so cute-love the new rug. Perfect place for the desk. The zig-zag planters will so pretty planted up and add some color to the entrance of the house!
Hey! You made some forward progress. One day's difference in starting the seeds won't matter. I guess finding your small gardening stuff will have to be part of the plan. Actually, your day sounds like a day in the life of a mom.
Oh it has such a cozy country romantic feel! That rug is gorgeous! I Imagine you sitting there in the morning with your coffee 😊 I just love it! Yes our kids grow up way to fast!
Some cute Floral curtains would look perfect for that little window. Will you wait until the zigzag flowerbed is painted before adding the new compost & plants? 🌺🌸💮🐈
Happy first day Back to School and Yay to progress, in your office! Loving it all, especially the rug, so befitting the space. Awe, the fresh cut flowers the YOU touch, lovely. For your wire rack, (not sure if you have one close)Costco has their clear bins on sale, they fit perfectly and with three sizes as options, might be a quicker solution to moving the large bins into the barn. Did you wake to any critters partaying? lol, hoping that wasn't the case, but Alvin and Peter's cute kind, would be breakdancing on your cardboard. I saw you moved the (cb) barrier to just under the beds, smart, that way you won't have to use as much compost to cover and fill. You can just rake the existing bark chips around the beds for function. Well, you have a good day and even with spotty internet, TG for our tech saavy hubby's, we all will be looking forward to your next video.
If satellite doesn't work for you, contact your land-line provider and ask if they offer internet. I live in rural Florida with little to no cell service and no internet. Satellite is not an option as when there is a storm in the Gulf of Mexico satellite losses signal. Good luck and love all you do 😊
