I would be very interested in how to make the two work together as well. Love the interface, however, I see now way to also be able to use the radio on WSJT-X while the control program is active.

@@westtexasvideogateski5juf255 Yeah, finally got it but thanks for getting back with me. I did btw dl it for my FT-991A and going to get the MFJ antenna switch to tie into my SDRPLAY RSPdx to bring everything together.

Good evening Tim, I did not need to use ferrites, I will share with you I had an experience with some coax problems that were causing some strange things to happen, when I upgraded all my coax between radio switch and antenna feedline this cleared up my problems, that's the only advice I have, are you using VGA, maybe a HDMI option might not have the RF interference, sorry wish I had better solution 73 and keep in touch

@@westtexasvideogateski5juf255 The VGA may be the issue, I have three monitors and the only one being messed with is the VGA fed Monitor. The cable has ferrites on it but they are small. I do have another question however, turn on works great, the 991A powers up and in a few seconds the Yaesu screen comes on along with Log4OM. Shutdown however is a different story. I have two options for shutdown 1.)Shut Down Radio and Exit, and 2.)Exit. Using either of those results in the 991A powering down and the Win4Yaesu Software hanging up. I then have to go to Task Manager to force close it. In playing around with this, I discovered it was LOG4OM, that is hanging up the Win4Yaseu software. Looks like Win4Yaseu is waiting for me to close LOG4OM to be closed before it will shut itself down. Not too hard a work around just a little weird

Good afternoon Tim, I never had to use ferrites but I'm only running 5 CW, 25 W USB and 35 watts AM FM 10m, so I don't have a lot of experience, I'm sorry couldn't help more, I'll share with you I did recently switch all my coax to DX Engineering pre-made cables and I've had good luck I did previously have a could weird things with my other coax from HRO, good luck keep in touch 73 @@timmyers3428

Do you need a switch on antenna so when you talk on radio you dont blow computer

@@ericknapp3165 Hi Edwin, how are you doing, I use antennas for all communications (like I never had a computer connection), the software on the computer only allows a portal via COM port to access the radio operations on you computer screen, so basically the computer software just allows you to do things from you computer like what would do directly on the radio, similar to a remote control - the best way to think about this is - the computer software is just giving you some additional features easier to find and controls remotely (vs) operating the radio directly (like being in front of the radio) so it will not damage yout computer, your computer is only a "node: per say and can offer some control features. any questions call me 972-589-9079 or email me at shope02@yahoo.com be glad to talk to you

With the FT-991A you just need a standard, old school USB cable.

Hmm, your using baud 38400 right? Double check and make sure you are using the Enhanced Serial Port - Device Manager (Ports LPT) write me back, there should be two COMs (Enhanced and Serial)
