The Midland Pullman excursion from Bristol to Carlisle came north via the Settle Carlisle Line, and returned via the West Coast Main Line.
The train left Bristol 51 minutes late, but arrived at Carlisle only 27 minutes late, making up this lost time on the Settle line.

Thanks Jeff. Most of the tours with this train are already sold out - so a success there. And good to this this, and the Settle Carlisle line Staycation Express, using preserved HSTs, rather than them being scrapped.

Thanks NIge - yes the lines south of Carlisle Station do allow some interesting snaking shots. I love this blue livery.

Thanks Ian. I have a remote control for the camera zoom on the pan bar, which allows a very slow to very fast zoom based on the pressure applied. Takes a lot pf practice to get it right, which i sometimes don't!

Thanks Steve. The leaving shot down the Main Line was the train leaving after its arrival for storage at Upperby. However the actual leaving shot several hours later would have been exactly the same! The camera can lie!
