This is how life should be. No phones, no video games for hours, etc. A healthy beautiful family enjoying God's beautiful nature, exercising, good food and most of all spending time together. Thanks for sharing. We traveled with our two sons for 3 1/2 months in an RV. We never made it to Alaska, but we loved Montana. Those were some of our best memories. Cherish them💕

Looks like an amazing vacation! I grew up just a few hours from McCarthy on the Edgerton cut off. We went through Chitina many a time to go fishing, using our fish wheel in the Copper River. Some of the most beautiful scenery in Alaska is out that way. So glad y’all were able to get down that way.

Red Rose tea (it’s in a sky blue box) which is my favorite to use for Kombucha. It has a rich but gentle flavor for a black tea. After fermenting for the seven days, I do a second ferment using a quarter cup of concentrated fruit juice per Gallon of fermented kombucha, or instead you could add 1/4 cup of a concoction made by cooking down rhubarb and strawberries making your own concentrate it needs to be sweet (this is delicious!) I only ferment in those amber beer bottleneck flip top bottles for two days (you don’t have to use amber bottles). Leaving a headspace of 2”. Tips: •Only use a wooden spoon •second fermenting done for too long can explode! • if the mother dies from some crazy reason (super hard to kill) you can use the little mothers continuing to grow in the refrigerator from unused kombucha even from the second ferments •if you went too long, just make sure it still has bubbles, I’ve gone over tens days (not the second ferment) not sure how long you can 😊 and it was fine. •grind up the extra Mother and feed it to the chickens (for future plans😂)their guts will thank you! •keep fermenting kombucha out of the light, a dark corner is best. •The bottles or fermenting jars need to be super clean free of soaps for the first time, after that just rinse in hot water, air dry the bottlenecks well , & store with loose lid. An epic adventure for sure! I’ve always associated Alaska with snow, wilderness, hardships, freezing cold, icy roads, danger, winter darkness, isolation, boredom…… But you and your family have captured it’s richness and grandeur in every direction and through every season! Seeing Alaska through your eyes has certainly challenged my ignorance and misconceptions about our 49th state! One little example-I love blueberries and never expected to see them growing wild on the lower mountain slopes! Loving this video! Brings back so many memories of camping in Alaska when my kids were small! It was always wonderful to find wild berry patches along side the roads! Are there still blueberry bogs beside the roads up there? They were abundant in the 1970’s.
