I have no idea how you stay warm. My hands would've fell off already. Can't wait to come up and see ya and I really hope you continue these throughout the year. Get a tv show started. Incredible and brings back ole maine memories. Thank you
Thank you friend, I am lucky about the hands not getting cold, maybe because I almost never wear gloves other than when riding the snowmobile, looking forward to it my friend, thanks again ,
If I'm not mistaken, the last time I was on the chain, it was hovering about -20 all night and day... Biggest brookies of my life though... All on crawlers and dillies. No shiners or smelts... Biggest was between 3-4lbs. About 24 inches.. looking forward to the rest of your trip.. so far so good.
I was able to get through two books this trip. The first one is called Tall Trees Tough Men, all about the area I was fishing and Maine and New England's logging history. It was super cool reading about the lakes I was fishing or sleeping on from a hundred or more years prior. The second one is Plato's The Last Days of Socrates .
@@JoeHollandFishing Little tip if you ever need to use that thing (if you have someone with you like donnie or something), pull starting in that cold weather can actually help turn over in those cold conditions! I have a 2017 Yamaha VK540, great utility sled, and pull starting in the cold -40 weather in upper vermont here is actually very helpful!
Your a lucky man my friend.in my part of new brunswick there's tons of Lake s but we can't fish them in winter .and they got good size trout in them. The one we dan fish there just stock up not to beg fish in them. But we can fish pickerel.smelts. perch. And bunch more. But you got some nice vedios I just subscribe and sure is a fan.keep up the great work. Someday I will spend a night on the lake.
Stumbled upon your channel while looking for a lake house up that way. Have been catching up on your videos. LOTS of good information an content as well as crisp video. Very nice, keep up the good work. ? what are those led lanterns you are using inside the Eskimo shelter, didn't see them in your equipment review.
This one is the Otter Sled and it’s the Biggest one they made this year. I think there might have been a bigger one in years past. It’s either the xl or large
Great question, I will be cutting a hole in one section in the future . The last three trips I’ve done have been super slushy and not good conditions for being out on the lake where it’s fishable so I haven’t been in a rush. I’m on the ice for this series but there’s zero water under me it’s just straight frozen ice and slightly too higher than the rest of the lake ice which is where the slush was sitting and threatening. I had a bad experience with waking up to four inches of slush inside the tent last year so I’ve been a little hesitant until I get on the right bodies of water, it’ll happen soon though,
