I cried watching the movie. How hard it would have been for his holiness Dalai Lama at the age 14 years to have an official meeting with Chinese captain with regard to his country Tibet,mentally he might have been terrorized by them.he was young enough to decide something a big to do with the country. How difficult for him to flee the country. I belong from Arunachal ,India located south of Tibet he made his journey through it. I wish to see before I die to his Hoiness.

Such an underrated movie as stated before, if not for Netflix I would have not known of it and the journey and transformation of these characters. I must see.

Beautiful film - best acting best story and best of all based upon a true story. Humbles me I can still watch this 1997 version with Brad Pitt again and again each time it moves me tears. It is for each man to find his own salvation... Dalai Lama : My salvation is my people. Heinrich Harrer : My salvation is you your highness.

Yeah I heard Brad talking in an interview about communism and how he thinks America is fine compared to some Communist countries maybe he meant China but America needs to be careful in thinking there is no danger of becoming more oppressed themselves.

I suggest Brad should run for the President of the US, seriously. It is a loss for America at our time as he is still young and energetic as he is right now. He would do a lot of good things for America and the world. In the movies, Seven Years in Tibet, he was asked what he wanted to do for Tibet regarding China, he said he is only an actor, nobody listens to him. Well, let Brad has the real power to carry on his role as the ambassador of peace and good will as he is. I do not like people think of Brad just successful because he is very sexy handsome. Come on, the guy is really special, smart, talented, hard-worker and genuine and humble for such a big boy like himself. There are tons of very handsome guys, Brad is just one of these good-looking guys out there; but, it is his inner substances that make him stands out!

How shallow. I feel sorry for actors. Always pretending to be better men than they are. Heinrich Harrer didn’t need transformation. That’s an invention of the screenwriter.
