My brother who's living with us is a SDA. He's constantly trying to force his beliefs down our throats. My husband and I are true ordinary religious Christians and find the situation so difficult that we now asked him to look for another place to live ❤

Okay, I'm beginning to understand how these side so-called churches are deceptive. At the same time though, I watch the men of my church and past churches I've attended, who have 'no' works at all in their lives. They attend services, maybe sing or not, but just sit there saying nothing and then doing nothing. They never share, praise, or thank God for anything. What has happened to the men in this culture. No wonder we see women rising up to teach and preach, which isn't biblical. Men have turned from following Jesus to a life of ease and letting women take care of them in every way. The most important thing I seldom see men doing is praying. A husband and father should be leading by praying for and with his wife and children. I would rather live in a tent or cave with a Godly husband than in a palace with great riches with a man who has turned his back on Jesus. 😔

Cults are arrogant and think that they are the only ones who can be saved. They all have unique beliefs about JESUS that no one else has. ● JESUS was created. ● JESUS is an archangel. ● JESUS was only human and was chosen to be the Messiah. ● JESUS is his own FATHER or THE FATHER is really JESUS. ● JESUS was a prophet and not the savior. ● We are equal to JESUS. ● The Trinity is pagan. Cults may not recognize that all things were created through JESUS and without Him nothing exists (John 1 : 1 through 5 and Colossians 1 : 16). Some do accep it but it is their beliefs about who JESUS is that makes them a cult. Cults will argue that they have the correct interpretation of the sceiptures even though no one has ever taught what they do. Cults will add and subtract from the scriptures.

@5:40....if you put catholics in the category of a cult, then why do you follow them in worshiping on a false day? an act that they claim as their "Mark" on power to change the bible, the commandments, and yet the protestant who claims sola scriptura, the bible only, follow the holy catholic church. look up what they and other denominations say about the sabbath. Jesus said "if you love me keep my commandments." in John 1 and several times in Paul's writings tells us that everything we have or was created came thru Him. in essence then, it was Jesus on sinai who gave the 10 commandments. and God Himself says what my lips utter i will not change.

Seventh day adventist is not a cult, some people are very zealous about this religion, some people can be too strict and can be just plain rude. We believe in the Bible as the only truth. That is why we go to church on the Sabbath. As a whole, we don't believe in condemning people for their believes. I'm sorry to those who had deal with rude and judgmental people in this faith, In the end, there are rude people wherever you go. It should be about having a relationship with God first, then a church.

The New Testament teaches that there is only ONE Creator (the Almighty Father; Holy Spirit), and only ONE Begotten Son (Jesus the Christ; the Living Word), and only ONE Written Word (the Bible; Scripture), and only ONE Church... which Jesus claimed and referred to specifically as, "... His church" (Matthew 16:18). Jesus clearly mentioned how he would build His Church, and only His Church. He did not make any reference whatsoever to any other church. One Church, and ONLY one Church, exists in the universe... to which Jesus Christ is the Head of, and His followers make up the Body of Christ. The Bible instructs the followers of and believers in Jesus to stop here. Period. And not to go any further, for to do so would be to "add to Scripture." Adding anything else to this concerning denominations, the "trinity", "KJV only", etc... is all the wisdom of man who received it [as a thought/idea/suggestion] from the leader of the opposing army to Jesus, and often referred to as "satan". So if the conception of anything beyond Scripture starts with the enemy (satan), then it is all demonic. To be "demonic" (by defintion) is to be "resembling, or characteristic of demons or evil spirits." One Creator. One Son. One Written Word. One Church. That's it. Anything added to that [or subtracted from] has a foundation built by demons. Being a follower of (believer) Jesus, the Only Begotten Son of the Father, is sufficient. All denominations accomplish is to create division among professed disciples of Jesus through the allegiance to their [whichever] organization, leaders, doctrines, etc. Denominations among His followers are not anywhere in Scripture nor mentioned by Jesus (who clearly opposed them); they came from man who was initially given the thought [by Satan] whenever it was the concept began. If a person recognizes and partakes in them, they subsequently and incorrectly validate the denominations as scriptural and become guilty of "adding to Scripture". Identifying as anything other than a "born-again believer" or "follower of Jesus" or anything similar, is to follow "mans wisdom" and not the words and teachings of Jesus. Stop adding to Scripture. Stop subtracting from Scripture. The written Word of the Almighty Creator is just fine without your assistance, and it doesn't need anyone's suggestions, thoughts, or whatever else to make it better or easier to understand. The Almighty Father did not decide to have man begin a new "remnant church" defined as a "... visible, historical, organized body characterized by obedience to the commandments of God and the possession of a unique end-time gospel." It would be somewhere in the New Testament if legitimate, yet it is nowhere. It is just another example of the thousands of false "doctrines of demons" as the Bible refers to and warns of. If you were to do minimal research on Ellen White, you would see that she is a fraud, and so is the entire movement. Have you ever spoken to or read anything written by someone claiming to be a member of the 7th Day Adventist?? They quote the writings of Ellen White 95% of the time, and the other 5% shared by the words of Jesus and the various authors who were led and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Ellen White's inspiration was herself and other members of the religion she helped create. A born-again believer should minimize their following of man as Scripture instructs and focus on Jesus, the Living Word and Only Begotten Son of the Father. No "trinity" is mentioned in Scripture; just a a few incorrectly understood verses. Therefore, by definition, it is a "doctrine of demons". Jesus said he did nothing without the Father (Holy Spirit), but he never said he did anything with "god the Holy Spirit", nor made a single reference. The Father exalted Jesus, and He now sits at His right hand and is equal to the Father, and all that the Father has He has given to the Son for He loves His Son; "The Father loves the Son, and has given all things in His hand. The one believing in the Son has eternal life. But the one disobeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him”. (John 3:35-36) If the Almighty Creator (referred to as "god the father") were equal to Jesus (referred to as "god the son") before His resurrection, than how did He exalt Him in the first place?? One of equal status to another is not capable of raising that other, for by what authority, superiority, or higher rank is there to do so if the two entities are equal to begin with?? Definition of exalt: "raise to a higher rank or a position of greater power." How can one who is no "greater" or "less than" capable of advancing or raising that other to a higher rank?? And why would there be a need for any of them (the trinity 3) to exalt the other if they are all equal?? And how would it be even possible for the Father to give Jesus anything if equal to one another, and already accounting for 2/3rds of the trinity?? etc, etc, etc. Stay away from anything and everything to do with a trinity, triune, 3-in-1 god, or whatever other name you want to refer to this destructive and demonic doctrine as. There is better or more perfect leader (King) in this world, and there is only One King that you can trust 100% without a shadow of a doubt; and His name is Jesus, the Christ and Only Begotten Son of the Father. Jesus is either the Only Begotten Son of the Almighty Father, which He is and which is easily proven many times over in the Word... OR, He is "god the son", which is 100% false, makes no sense whatsoever, and is never mentioned in Scripture and therefore cannot be supported or proven. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR JESUS TO [SIMULTANEOUSLY] BE "THE SON OF THE ONE TRUE CREATOR" AND "GOD THE SON"... SO WHICH ONE IS IT?? Is He the Son of His Father, which is taught, supported by, and can be proven within the Holy Scripture... or is He, "god the son", which is NOT in the Written Word, and which WAS conceived by demons, and is also influenced and supported by demons and with the help of [deceived] man. Are you still incapable of figuring out who "god the holy spirit" is?? Can you not think of one entity created by The Father and through The Son (as were we) whose desire to be "worshipped" was so great that he lost everything?? If you can figure out who desires worship more than any other creation ever made in existence, than you have just discovered who "god the holy spirit" truly is and who you have been praying to and worshipping whenever you teach, preach, or believe anything other than ONE FATHER and ONE SON. If anyone attempts to preach/teach anything to you that cannot proven within the Holy Scriptures, and continue to do so even after being corrected or rebuked... follow them no more.

Not our prayers but Christ’s prayers-He is ever interceding for us in heaven. He is confessing His own merits in our behalf. And before He returns with our reward he will blot out our ins in His Book or blot is out of them in the day of atonement.

If SDA was a cult, members would be required to believe particular church dogma, such as Ellen White’s writings. We’re not. Ellen White herself wrote that readers should read their Bible and not rely on her writings. She said if her or anyone else’s writings help a Christian understand the Bible, then fine… read. But, the Bible is to be the Christian’s guide. Besides Ellen White, Adventists read writings from other authors such as Philip Yancey and CS Lewis. Cults prohibit adherents from reading anything other than that church’s dogma. Now, there are individuals and even pastors who rely inappropriately on Ellen White’s writings. But, that’s them, not the SDA church. I teach Bible to young teenagers, and I don’t use Ellen White’s writings. I use the Bible only. I’ve never had comment from the Church; never will. Why do we worship on Saturday rather than Sunday? Because the Bible says to. Please see Genesis 2:2-3, and the fourth commandment. We keep the Sabbath on the Seventh day of the week rather than the first day of the week because that’s what God did and that’s what He entreats believers to do. Works? We’re adamant that salvation is by faith, not works… straight from the Bible. At the same time, scripture says that faith without works is dead. Works are not for getting salvation; rather, works on Jesus’s behalf is a celebration of our coming to faith. It’s in the Bible. The church does have a collection of beliefs. The church operates the second largest network of schools and universities and hospitals and clinics, so a statement of beliefs is especially essential for an organization. Adventism takes Jesus’s second coming seriously, and advocates for its adherents to heed the three angels’ messages in Revelations 14:6-12. Further, Adventism encourages members to adjust beliefs and lifestyle to conform to the Bible so as to be members of the remnant church described in the Bible. Is that works? Does obedience to the Bible constitute works? Christian pastors and influencers would serve God and humankind better by helping people understand the Bible than trying to classify Adventism as a cult. If it was a cult I would not participate, but it isn’t and so I do.

You can't decide if they're the true church when you are in error. You keep Sunday holy which is a doctrine started by Catholicism, along with Easter and Christmas etc

Dear people, follow God not people. Read and meditate on the word of God day and night. That's where you will get all the answers. I'm really tired of all Christian denominations putting each other down. May the Holy Spirit guide you, regardless what church you go to. Only God can convict.

I've been getting the impression that those who are trying to prove the 7th-Day Adventist understanding of God's plan of salvation for the fallen human race is unbiblical have not studied the topic with the honesty of purpose of a true disciple of Jesus, the Messiah. And it's a very true and helpful statement to say that we need to be led into the Truth by the Spirit of Truth and should not listen to men, especially if they regard themselves as educated and "qualified".

There is no religion/Church today that has not deviated from the truths of the Bible. As for SDA they have even deviated from the words of Ellen White “Christ is not equal to God Almighty”

I am not a member of any church. I did a little study with Mormons. A little study with JW's, they both come a knocking. My husband was a RC & l have stacks of that theology that l have saved & filed along with the other. Now, l can tell you l have studied deeply with SDA's and EGW never claimed to be a prophet. The church claims that & l agree with them. She herself never claimed to be a prophet. As you read her writings, she never says anything contrary to scripture that l have found. I think God uses her to explain the meaning to make it easier to understand. My RC husband once said, "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Adventists are in first place." I tend to think, this post is splitting a lot of hairs. Yes, Satan is Suttle. Although l am not a member of the SDA church, it would be my 1st choice. AMEN!

Everybody who listens to anybody who criticicizes another believer, or church, should always keep in mind that Jesus was also criticize by His people, and even today His own people, as a nation, still teach that Jesus was an imposter. Now why did that happen, and is still happening today? Also keep in mind that those who challenged Jesus the most were the leaders/teachers of Israel. Why? I have been around many people of different denominations, and only those who have humbly studied the Bible and allow the Bible to interpret itself arrive to conclusions the SDA church has on the Sabbath, and a few other teachings. My own Pentecostal grandmother, who read the Bible daily, told me before passing away, that she was keeping the Sabbath alone in her house the best she understood, because she came to realize that the Lord's Day was actually the 7th day of the week. I myself have had to carefully reconsider what I believe because of so many negative things others say about this denomination, including by former SDA's. And I usually find the same problems. The attacks are mostly on Ellen White. Why, because good contextual study of the word proves that the SDA church does indeed have a solid foundation, thus making it hard to refute. So attacks are redirected to the woman whom God raised during a time Satan also raised his false prophets like Joseph Smith. Satan did the same during the days of Martin Luther the reformer, and raised Ignatius of Loyol to counterattack the Protestant reformation. Just like many have wrested bible scriptures to mean something else than its true meaning, many have done this with Ellen Whites writings. And it worst when people try to debunk her with wrested Scriptures.

CHRIST IS NOT THE SCAPEGOAT, YOU ARE SO SO CONFUSED AND SLOW OF UNDESTANDING. WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT CHRIST IS SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER?

God created the New Testament for a reason ! It's the new covenant that we live by . God's greatest commandments , Matthew 22 ; 36-40 . All 9 commandments are in the NT except for keeping the Sabbath . Colossians 2 :16 .

As an Adventist of many years standing I have to agree with this presentation sadly. I say sadly because I have many good friends in the church who have been gullible just like me and believed in the authority which the church leadership has attributed to Ellen White and the teaching of the investigative judgment of 1844. But no more. Be careful not to be too hard on the church members it’s the leaders at the top that are going to face God one day. You should check the historical facts. Though some Adventists called Ellen White a prophetess, she denounced that and said she was only a messenger. There are many great Adventist churches who pay little attention to Ellen White, since they emphasized the Bible first, foremost and last. If one reads Desire of the Ages, they will see nothing contradictory in light of the Bible.

The 4th commandment, the commandment that says "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath dayand hallowed it." Wow! It's the longest of the 10 commandments. You see by whose authority the commandments are given, all in this commandment. The Lord thy God, who made heaven and earth and the sea and all that is in them. The Creator. Oh, that's right, according to you we don't need to keep the commandments. Let's see...Jesus kept them for us so we don't have to. We don't have to keep the Sabbath because He did it for us. Oh, and He had no other gods before the Father so we don't have to keep that one. That was a Jewish thing, eh? Only the Jews needed to keep the commandments. And what about not worshipping idols. Well Jesus didn’t worship idols so we don’t have to not worship them. I guess that means we can worship them, according to, guess who, you again. Jesus did not take the name of the Lord in vain so we don’t have to not do that, therefore, we can. According to you. So If we go according to you, which we do not, we don’t need to keep the commandments since Jesus did that for us. We can dishonor our elders, murder, commit adultery, lie, steal and covet because, hey, Jesus kept the commandments for us so we don’t have to. Do you see how wrong it is to think we are not obliged to keep the 10 commandments. That’s 10, not 9. The roman catholic church claims to have changed the Sabbath to the 1st day of the week, a day you honor, following catholic tradition, but if you read your Bible you will find no authority for such a change. Speaking of the change from the 7th day Sabbath to Sunday as the day of worship, the catholic church says “Sunday is our mark of authority …. The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact” (The Catholic Record of London, Ontario, Sept. 1, 1923). There you have it from the horse’s mouth. Not only the admission that Sunday observance is their “mark” but also additional blasphemous statement saying their “authority” is above the Bible. Blessings to all as you study God’s Word.

Coming from an Anglican church background, and I discovered that SDA is a well organized church, I learnt more about the bible. They are not cults.

"You have been estranged from Christ, you who seek to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace!" Galatians 5:3 and later "those who are led by the Spirit are NOT UNDER THE LAW," Galatians 5:18. Paul wrote so much against the turning back to the old ways. If you seek to be justified by the old covenant you are bound to keep the whole law! Jesus told us about what was coming- the new cannot patch the old, He has made an entirely NEW garment! The new wine would BURST the old wineskins! The law is good, but we were the gaping hole within it, unable, without Jesus, to live up to a holy standard. Hebrews says that restrictions like food, clothing, and festival days were upheld until the time of reformation! We have come into a Kingdom that isn't seen or shaken. I pray that our SDA brothers and sisters come to hold fast to the LIBERTY by which Christ has made us free! Amen!

If you're not firmly grounded by the Bible, or only learn to read verses instead of whole passage... It is much easier for you to be manipulated by such doctrines as the sda. The Bible stands on it's own and can be proven by itself. We can interpret how we understand what we read but never change the context of what a chapter or book is about.
