This reminds me of sitting with my grandmother on her front porch watching the storms roll in. I miss that so much.

You know I have to say this is the best t-storm video I've seen. You planted the camera on the porch, mother nature provided the show and you didn't talk it to death nor shake the cam a million times. This was fantastic footage. Good/great work, sir!

Incredible footage. I'm always so very envious of people lucky enough to experience natures storms as powerful as these from their own homes. Sadly I have to resort to RU-vid to witness such events.

I've only seen two thunderstorms in my life where lightning was nearly continuous and I'm 81. It's a rare treat to actually be in or near one.

GREAT JOB!! Speaking of severe thunderstorms, I remember, about 5 years ago, me and my dad drove from our home in eastern Pennsylvania up to Cape Cod, MA. That is about a 6-hour drive and we had one severe thunderstorm after another all the way up! It was CRAZY!! We spent the weekend up there and the weather on Saturday and Sunday was beautiful. But those storms.

This video would have been perfect had your camera’s mic not automatically clipped all the loud claps of thunder et al. In future, try to disable that. Otherwise, excellent footage.

Another thing I want to say when it’s daytime the dark clouds of thunderstorms is one of my favourite weather I like it at day or night but say is what I like the most when it’s dark in the day that’s one of my favourite thing. And the footage is amazing It’s been going on for 1:10:25 minutes to an hour long you should put it in time lapse so when the lightning strikes you stop the time lapse so we can watch it go.

Excellent video. And, thank for not talking through the whole thing, or moving the camera around. Love the continuous thunder and lightning, and how dark it got!! Keep up the good work!!

It's great footage but why is it so difficult to just let a camera be set up for an hour without the interruptioms.. I'd understand if it was hours but it's only an hour and 10 mins.

Oh my goodness, that was an amazing thunderstorm! Back in January, we had one like this with an amazing flash of lightning as i was coming home from school! Nice video!

Nice job recording this. Where I live we very rarely get these kind of storms.

We don't get storms like this in the UK but in recent years we have been getting more intense ones. Sometimes my wife and I use this as atmospheric sounds for drifting off to sleep as the audio is really good. We need to set the volume so that the loudest cracks don't wake us. Great video too

This gives me the vibe of watching summer storms approach in my old house since that the living room windows were facing west. Too bad we had to move out. I'm lucky though since that it's only MY Bedroom that had a window facing west, it's smaller, but the view with the trees are beautiful.

A very severe rain storm can darken the day like night blocking out the sun so much it makes a very dark cooler evening chasing away a hot summer day like nature supposed to!!

It is clear but at night in Florida june 20 2023 there was an electrical storm in Florida there was no rainfall or rumbles of thunder associated with the showers of rainfall in the summertime in south Florida

I just noticed in a matter of 630 seconds from the start of this video - ( Approximately 10 minutes and 30 seconds ) The whole entire sides in the distant of light faded away.

Must have been a very hot afternoon and the heat followed upper drafts of verticle winds into the sky before this storm!

In My Opinion Thunderstorm happens when rain happens

The western and southern states have the most severity of storms and frequent lightning!!

A lighting bolt could be on your head any second when bright flashes are seen!

Commenting 1/26/20 at 6am EST...I have been audiotaping Tstorms since 4/27/73 and videotaping Tstorms since 6/2/89...and way back then.....I never thought the day could come of my seeing such awesomed videotaped/uploaded Tstorms on RU-vid..which all began in 2005......including this one..which is so mouthwateringly awesome..!! People are addicted to drugs/alcohol/tobacco..but me? I am only so that much addicted of audio-videotaping Tstorms..and how I just love this addiction.....So glad to see this awesomed video from FRI 7/8/16 and also to put the thunder smack on audiotape.....and if only all all other such live Tstorm videos were as clear, non-camcorder-shaky and with great thunder like this one...us Tstorm-enthrallists would all be feeling just like Bill Gates...Steve Case...IOWs..multi-millionaires...so your living where you get some 50 annual Tstorm days...you have the wonderful opportunity to capture such mouthwatering videos....of which at least..I love to view and put onto audio cassette..hence my under-name ''LuvsTstormTAPES'' ..Even my own channel's got some nice Tstorms here from southern RI....like on 7/28/89, 8/4/95, 6/26/02, 5/29/05 and more recently, 7/13/17..of which I got an extremely closeby lightning strike at 11:28 in my 12-minute video...and last 11/27/19..I caught a closeby CG/thunderclap..for so late in the season too...amazing.

Where did this storm take place?

The first 2m:40s, it appears as though he had the camera facing SW. Then he rotated it about 90° left, so it was probably facing SE the rest of the video. Just guesses based on light and cloud movement.

0:25 - Sounds like a Ford Panther Platform car starting up... like a Crown Vic, Mercury Grand Marquis, or something similar? Someone in your family or the next door neighbor own one? 0:33 - I recognize that “clunk” anywhere. Parking brake release is definitely a T pullhandle under the dash, and not a handbrake on the console.

Why oh why can’t I get storms like this? 😭😭 we used to get realllllly decent late-summer evening thunderstorms here in western New York, but I couldn’t tell you the last time we had a good one. Now we get a few claps of thunder, and it’s gone. I remember being terrified of them as a kid, afraid to sleep in my own bed.......now I absolutely love them, but we don’t get them 😅
