I had questions about sunburn and, of course, you explained it!!! :o). I love what you and your wife do for these babies...thank you!! And, I absolutely LOVE watching your work!!!
Poor noodle - so hot, scared and no idea you were helping him. I bet he felt better at the end. I’m glad he ended up somewhere that was willing to make him comfortable.
Maybe he thought that she was going to hurt him and it's possible that the owners it had before must've been abusive which is pretty obvious because they never sheered him and the other llamas were looking at him like "hey it's ok you're safe with us now and that lady is here to help us too"
Omg, 151 llamas in one day?! Holy work ethic! I love you two so much with your giant compassionate hearts and incredible skills. 🥰🤗 The critters you meet are so lucky! Thanks for sharing your tremendous gifts with the world! I look forward to each and every video. 💗💞🥰
So stressful for both of you. I love your compassion and care. My grandparents were graziers in Australia and the damage the seasonal shearers used to do to the poor sheep used to up set me. It is great to see anew generation of shearers giving animals time and respect.
I could watch this all day. Your expertise at your profession is simply amazing!!! I know it is difficult work, but you make it look so easy.Your beautiful demeanor calms the animals down. He was such a good boy for a first clip! And bet he felt so much better afterwards. Thank you for putting such love and effort in your career. You and your wife are just perfect together, taking care of all these beautiful babies! I especially love how the animals welfare is priority.💖Keep up the great videos! Question in shearing.....in animals that are used for shows,do you guys clip them too? Or is that a job for the owner? Or another specially trained shearer? You wouldn't think watching these videos is fascinating or interesting after you see one. But the art is very mesmerizing. Like watching an artist or sculpture at work. Seriously could watch all day long!!!
Thank you for being gentle and kind with all of the livestock you shear: pets, wool, or food production, you treat them all with the same kindness and respect. Thank you.
I'm only halfway through and he looks soooo much better than he started out as. Just the first mat coming off made a huge difference. Poor baby was so miserable and scared, but I bet he feels a whole world better afterwards.
Love your videos. To watch in real time is even cooler because you get to see and hear the animals reaction and yours. He must be feeling so much better. My kitty is having a reaction to his noise too. My kitty looks concerned for him.
WOW! Bless you for this job well done. i'd say that Llama handled his 'hair cut' like a champ, all things considered. thnx for sharing your profession and the passion you have for all the critters you shear. ❤
At least the squealing is kind of soft and more of a complaint than anything. A couple of other llamas gathered around to watch and see why he was making so many squeals. A relatively short period of distress to feel so much better afterwards will teach him for the next shearings.
I never thought I’d be interested in shearing llamas or sheep. I am a city girl but this channel is fascinating. Thanks for helping the animals. It must be such a relief for them.
I love watching you work. Please keep posting videos. You do such a good service to help those poor llamas feel so much better. I think you should be proud of what you do for a living.
What a sweet boy. He didn’t even spit at you after the halter came off, he really seemed just relieved to be out of it. Glad he’ll have a cool relaxing summer.
Big fan! This poor guy must be feeling so much better without all that weight and heat and itch! I've been wondering since I found you guys! I think from context clues that when shearing for fiber you go against the grain because it lets you get more fiber off in one piece and closer to the skin? Professional curiosity of a sort - I'm a dog groomer! (Absolutely 0 livestock experience though lol.) So satisfying watching your clean shear clips.
You do such awesome work! I cannot immagine the physical strenght you must have developed to be able to to care for sweethearts like this. Thank you for your service and your patience. All the love from Germany
Woah! Way to go keeping that poor overgrown fella so comfortable and calm given the situation! Hopefully in the next couple years he'll get more used to the process now that he's not matted to hell.
Poor thing. Well done!! I bet that baby feels so much better and awkward at the same time being so used to caring all that around. Great job continue the good work you guys are awesome.❤
I FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHY & WHAT the noises he was making, Thank you for explaining that to us. Katie, I've NEVER understood WHY people have or raise Llama's and HOW it ALL of it works out. Im so glad that this just popped up on my RU-vid channel and yes, I'M HOOKED⁉️🤪😏 I VERY RARELY SUBSCRIBE TO A CHANNEL. BECAUSE THE content of most do not hold my interest like ANIMAL'S. BETWEEN HORSES, which are my FAVORITES & I LOVE THEM WITH ALL OF MY HEART.❤ NOW, SHEARING IS MY NEW FAVORITE!!!
Not a bad job ! I’ve shorn a sheep or two in my day and watching you brings back memories , I Shaw a wild merino ram once that hadn’t been done for 5 years his fleece weight was 78 kg that averages out at a bit over 15 kg a year not that it was any good it went to the dags bin , but after I’d finished him he gave me a good head but on my leg then took off down the chute to the drenching race , mongrel kept on trying to escape back into the bush
You explain things so well. Most of the shearers I know up here won't shear llamas or alpacas because how difficult and fierce they can be compared to sheep.
I cannot tell you how amazing you are for doing this for these four defenses animal. I have been waiting on a video like this. I’ve seen where you all do shit but I never seen it done for llamas. I know they can be difficult and spit but this poor defenseless animals feel so much better. I felt bad after I saw how much do you get off of him . May the Lord continue to bless you.
Great job on that poor guy. He was so thin underneath that matted mess, he must be feeling enormous relief. His food will now go to making him healthy, not just sustain him while carrying around a heavy "rug" on his entire body.
Hard way to earn a living I would guess, but emotionally rewarding when you help a poor animal like that overgrown llama. The other Llamas kwpt coming over to see why he was screaming and, maybe, to try to comfort him.
He or she is going to feel so much better! I thought the squeal was your clippers! Now for me turning into a mom - you should be wearing some kind of eye protection! The guy that used to cut my hair, a very small piece flew into his eye and imbedded in his cornea. He had to have surgery.... be safe you two! ♥️🦙♥️
I wonder if they have an instinctive special fear of the pressure of the shears on their neck, back and sides. There is similarity to a predator attack. I really admire how she was able to get the mats off so smoothly and quickly without cutting the animal’s skin. How uncomfortable he must have been in the heat!
I started watching your short videos recently and decided to check out your channel... you do an excellent job and I find it mesmerizing to watch the shearing...you ladies are super strong and I wish you all the best in your very important work..I am amazed!
God has blessed you with this great talent. I watch others do the same thing & they are not careful & loving with the animals like you are. The animal shows they are comfortable & seem to want this coat removed. I pray God will continue to bless your work & keep you safe as you travel. Thanks for being willing to do this neat job. I love animals & you handle them well. Keep your hearts open for Jesus. HE is just around the sunset. KW MT 🇺🇸 🎉
He was a good boy! But that little squeak, so pitiful! He's beautiful and looks happy. Is tail wagging a sign of happines or discomfort in Llamas? Great job ladies!❤️
I love watching your videos and have always been interested in shearing. I also would like to say I would totally watch longer videos and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Thanks again for sharing your skill be blessed
Poor fellow. Freaked out and lost his security blanket. He is so stressed by this new situation. I really hope he will be better next time. Really nice work on this guy.
I personally know nothing about sheering a llama, although I did have a poodle that I shared & kept shared all summer long for 18 years.( yes I did it myself & she seemed to enjoy getting it all taken off of her body every time!) You seem to be very good @ this job & a plus to me is that you enjoy helping & giving the animals relief from carrying around that hot and extra burdensome matted coat! Keep up the outstanding work 🚫💩👍👏👏👏🍻
he could also be scared if he has had a bad experiance with sheering in the past. Auction pickups can have all kinds of bad history, its not their fault. or yours you all did a wonderful job, including the llama.
You have an excellent way with animals. Let me guess you wanted to be a vet or work at a zoo when you were a little girl!? It would be lovely to hear how you found a love of sharing....
@2:20 I’m a caregiver & 1 of my clients has Alzheimer’s (A) & anxiety wen she’s overwhelmed she starts to yell-ish most CG’s stop her… I don’t, I try & calm her, tell her she’s ok & will be but I let her get her stress, anxiety & overwhelmed-ness (lol) out. It’s like us w/out Alzheimer’s being so frustrated we yell/punch into pillows, etc. but ppl think bc she’s got (A) she shouldn’t be able to do tht & I do so I let her get it out… so wasn’t supposed to be this long😂
