Severide's Father Passes Before Saying Goodbye | Chicago Fire

Severide learns that his father passed away before before he could say goodbye. Later, he gets emotional after Boden reveals to him that his father did one final act of kindness.
Season 7 Episode 6 "All the Proof"
Gorsch continues to clash with Boden at the firehouse and escalates his efforts as he takes Boden’s place as leader when 51 responds to a call of a poisonous gas exposure at an apartment. After the call, Gorsch-clearly over his head as a field commander-threatens various insubordination charges against the team and against Boden. Severide receives devastating news about his father. Cruz tries to teach everyone how to speak Spanish following the last call. Casey and Naomi continue working together when she discovered more damage about the trailer manufacturer. Foster tries to get Brett in the spirit of Halloween. Chaplain Orlovsky announces his retirement and introduces 51 to his successor, Chaplain Kyle Sheffield (Teddy Sears). Later on, Gorsch is removed from 51 for good.

this has to be one of the most realistic representations of grief ive ever seen in TV, kelly didnt just burst into tears and start howling, its the slow realisation of whats happened as you see it almost wash over him, its painful, kelly was always such a good guy.

My father passed away from Asbestosis in 2004 from fighting fires for 27 years in Aus. He was 54 years young, and lived one hell of a tough life. Kudos to all our service men and women who ultimately put their bodies on the line for our protection and safety. You never know the sacrifices made until that person is never around.. always proud of you Dad and the person you showed me I can become.

Seeing a man cry is a rare sight cuz most men don't cry in front of company or let alone at all and Kelly is a great example of this. he is the type of guy that rarely shows his vulnerable side

Men usually don't cry because this society thinks that "men shouldn't show emotions because it means they're weak" and that's wrong, men are still humans

Kelly didn’t show because he can’t show, no one worried about him neither his parents, not for the society in this case (in the reality is this, bur Kelly isn’t this example). Everytime he loses someone he suffers and cries. For me is casey this example he is the Superman that support and sacrifices himself and doesn’t show his feelings.

Like when Hailey died. and right after dawson left she matt almost died he bottled up his emotions causing him to lash out at herman at one point. Him and Kelly have butted heads a few times to. Kelly does show most of the time because it might because of the way of how Benny raised him to be a man.

Such a sad episode. I lost a friend of over 20 years to a stroke 4 days ago so this hits a bit close to home. Love this series - always great acting. Thank you to all involved and to the emergency services for always being there. Bless you all 🙏🕊🇦🇺

my father died when i was in the force. im thankful for my mates that helped me thru such a personal thing. they knew i was broken. but in their own special way they stitched me back up. i may always have a hole in my heart. but if it werent for them, that void wouldve been bigger.

I work in a hospital, as environmental. The stories I hear from the nurses, their sad. 1 month in, a woman was coming to see her dad, same thing happened to her that happened to Kelly, he died before she got there. Broke my heart to hear that 😢

i know how he feels last year 2 days before christmas alex is my dad got short of breath he could hardly breathe he went to the hospital he was admitted there they diagnosed lung fibrosis it seems to be going in the right direction then he suddenly fell out of bed on the night of christmas eve and christmas dayin ( holland we have 2 christmas days ) he suddenly died without us being able to say goodbye to him and it didn't stop there our mother yvonne now has dementia
