@@Navaurait does feel reminiscent to those times but it definitely isn’t dated. I could see this song coming out today and it getting massive but the industry be playin
The fact that she isn’t bigger and this song didn’t get an award is ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL and this production and beautiful video ...and such a gorgeous person and voice
It's a DAMN SHAME tht the industry doesn't recognize the PURE TALENT of this woman! Her singing skillz, her arrangements, her writing skillz R thru the ROOF GOOD!! SHINE ON DARL'N, U R LOVED by ur FANS ALWAYS!!
Black women make the best music but are the most oppressed women till this day. From a straight Haitian man. I love black women. Y'all are the best women ever
zoe black I absolutely love being a black Woman for this very reason. Because everyone wants to look like us, date our men, dance and talk like black Women. Black Women are the most copied race of women, yet the most envied. That in itself shows just how powerful we really are. Wouldn’t change being a black woman for nothing in the world. Got it tatted on me, that’s how much I love being a black woman. Thank you brotha for your kind words and for loving us. We need more brothas like you. God bless 🙏🏾
Stephanie Graves Black women are beautiful. I’m white and I do envy their gorgeous black skin. No matter who we are, what we look like, we must all be proud of our heritage.
Sevyn is so underrated..Need more straight ahead R&B these days. This song could have come out in the 80s 90s or early 2000s. that's what makes it great
This song is what an r&b carnivore need. Everything sounds the same these days. This is so refreshing, relaxing and we need more like this. You go Sevyn!!❤
Someone please tell me why Sevyn Streeter is not blowing up more. She is beautiful and talented. Its sad in the Music Industry our beautiful dark skinned sistas are overlooked
Brazilian chick currently its number one on the top adult r& b songs which is quite an accomplishment. The kids these days just are not listening to this great music like they were in the 90's. A prime example of that was Janet Jacksons " No Sleeep" it was number 1 on the Adult chart for over 10 weeks and it only went to like number 58 on the Pop charts.
@@jvf45 I love R&B. The Isley's were one of my biggest influence in music, along with Prince Michael Jackson, Jodeci, Guy and a lot of other artists. I have one of my songs up when I was testing out the way I was mixing my track in some monitors at Sam Ash, "Adore" I play all the instruments and do all of my own vocals along with writing. Since RU-vid mess up my views and lack of supporters, I haven't really released anything yet.
Sherelle Willis the instrumental is similar to Aaliyah's "At Your Best" and her voice enhances that Aaliyah sound, which is very beautiful coming from her cause not many ppl can mimic Aaliyah's sound and pull it off as excellent as this.
BECAUSE she sampled At Your Best, originally performed by The Isley Brothers and sampled by Aaliyah. But the version she sampled is the one that Aaliyah used... That's why!
Heard this song in a shoe store and started nodding along but my goodness as the song kept playing I had to know who this was and which song. Her voice is amazing. R&B is my favorite genre, I'm glad I found another talented artist.
KingKongBrodie Johnson 85 to about 90 percent of the people won't hear it that way because they're listening from their cell-phone... Unless they wait for it to come on, hook their cell-phones up to the car radio or home stereo...😂😂👍👍
It's sad how the industry overlooks artists like Sevyn Streeter because they think her image wouldn't sell. Yet they stay coming for her songwriting skills.
@@amazingjay3957 It's definitely her skin. Why is Elli Mai popular if it's because of industry rules? The industry rules are to be light because most people like light skin. Not saying this against her, but in favor of her. She is beautiful and dark skin is not the problem, but it is a problem for the industry and many others that do not like dark skinned. This women has a more beautiful voice than Elli. I like Elli and I like her voice too. She is beautiful and so is Sevyn. I feel equal to them. But the industry and others do not. Both do not overly sexualize themselves and both have beautiful voice but which do they prefer more though?
