A banded collar is a great option if you are newer to sewing shirts and blouses and many patterns have this cute option. I am sharing how to sew them 3 ways: my least favourite method, the traditional method, and my absolute favourite way. You will see great sewing footage and you will be ready to tackle your shirts with confidence. Come join me!
We will touch on all the reasons your collar might not match your neckline and bring a lot of solutions. Super practical.
This is part of a miniseries where we will go over banded collars, collar & stand, shirt sleeve plackets and more. Your next shirt or blouse will be a treat to sew.

Your 'fave ' method for sewing a banded collar is an absolute winner. I have just tried it and the result was the neatest collar I have ever sewn. I have been making shirts for thirty years and never had such a good result. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much. I've used your least favourite method, one that many sewists advocate, a number of times and also don't like it - it's hard to get the collar to fit accurately. Having used your favourite method to create shirt cuffs, I was thinking of trying it for a band collar that I'm presently sewing. So, I went to RU-vid to see if there were some specific instructions. That's when I found your vlog and it's exactly what I want to do. It just makes such sense. I'll be checking out your other videos.
