Today, I am sewing the Winslow Culottes pattern by Helen's Closet with hacks from her blog (linked below) to include an elastic back waistband and slash pockets. Both modifications were super easy and turned out great! I also decided to finish my seams with French Seams - and I am so glad I did! My fabric really wanted to fray. If you have not utilized French Seams before, they are one of my favorite ways to finish seams - they really elevate the guts of your garment and are super simple. This pattern is perfect for practicing French Seams because most of the seams on the pattern are straight!
I absolutely LOVED sewing up the Winslow Culottes. The pattern was clear and easy to follow and bonus it is super versatile! You can make these in a variety of lengths, fabric patterns, seam finishes, and experiment with modifications. This pattern has something to offer every sewist (beyond making your big pant dreams come true)!
