This is the pattern I have my eye on! I have the book! Thanks for doing that for me! Mine will have a large floral sugar skull for Focus 1 (black background). I have a piece with the black background with much smaller skulls for Fabric 2, and a pink will be the third fabric (background). For my granddaughter. Excited!
Fran, Thanks for the Tutorial. I love seeing someone else make a quilt to see if I can pick up on some helpful hints. Please do some more tutorials. I would love to see one on half square triangles..
Love the live demonstration Fran. The quilt is beautiful too. I have the pattern, but haven’t decided on fabric yet.. excited to make this one now I see it is easy enough. Thank you and hope to see more tutorials soon. 😊
I love your 3-yard quilt methods and this quilt specifically! Thanks for the great videos! I'm hoping to find some very beginner-friendly tutorial videos. I need basics to make sure I'm not missing something, lol.
Fran I love the process you showed throughout the video. I do everything you did except for a few extra organizing tips that I must start incorporating!! loved the patriotic, bouquet Christmas and floral quilts. It also showed us that any quilt you pick with the different fabrics will make a variety of themed quilts. I also love that I have that book. I will definitely have to make one of these quilts. I love sew a longs videos it’s so inspiring and so eye opening makes me want to sew. I have always made labels and I think I need to make the labels and reuse them for the next 3 yard quilt. I have some labels made but I’ll make the unit ones so I can add those to my already made labels for the pieces. Also I put the blocks/pieces in ziplocks so that everything is labeled and sorted. It makes it so much nicer to keep everything organized and ready to sew even I I can only sew for a short time. I like that by watching I should make a label for xtra fabric so I can keep it in case I make a mistake. Thank you for all the wonderful tips Fran.
Wonderful, Fran. Lots of great tips and tricks. I want that pattern and I will make it carefully, the way you have taught. I have watched it several times already.
Fran, you did an excellent job on this instruction video. You explained well, video visuals supported well, nice vocal energy. Good tips for assembly voice overs. A+ work.
My next quilt is this pattern for my nephew who served in the Army. I loved your tutorial and watching you create it. I loved the hints, specially about leaving the salvage on until you combine your strips. Very handy hint.
Fran, I can't decide which version I like best, the patriotic or the Christmas one. I like your way to straighten the edge best of the methods I've been taught.
Finally, a sew along video! I have waited and waited for this. I just love watching the process live. The little hints along the way are so helpful. Thanks for doing this, Fran. It gives me the confidence to try. I sincerely hope you will do more. You are a masterful quilter, and I really enjoy watching you work your magic.
I love this video! I have several sets of fabric, and 5 or six books, and watch many, many videos, but i have been hesitant in making a single one. Yesterday, i cut out part of a star block from the Christmas book in seasonal flannel. I think i can, i think i can...
In all the times I have watched your channel this is the first time I have seen you sewing the quilt. I loved it. I like watching the quilt come together . It shows how easy it comes together and makes me want to do the quilt. Thanks. Hope there is more in the future.
Great video as always! The thing that I learned from watching this video is that you pressed all the seams open! I was taught to press the seams in one direction. I will have to try pressing the seams open to see how flat I can get my quilt. I, too, use Best Press on my fabrics but I do not use it to press my seams. Thanks again!
I press my seams to one side, so the seams lock together when you sew the block. I only press open on complex blocks where I want or need to reduce fabric bulk. But give it a try and see which you prefer. Happy stitching.
Thank you for this video Fran! For me, as a beginner, it is SO helpful to watch you cut and sew, and also to learn from all of your valuable tips! Thank you again and please keep ‘em coming! 👍😊
I loved watching this video I hope you do more for of your patterns I love your patterns Just about finishing the checkmate quilt for my grandson I love it!
Love the toot....but I am amazed at ...perfect cut...perfect seams...straight sewing...and virtually no trimming...perfectly square pieces ...ivwould like to see tutorials on techniques...but great job...
It's a Snap is the quilt that got me hooked on Fabric Cafe. I saw a picture on the internet that led me to your site. Have not made it yet, but when I get around to making a quilt for mysel, this will be the pattern I use!
Thank you for sharing your tips. I enjoyed watching you put a quilt top together. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt. I need some of those blue thimbles you put on when ironing. I didnt know they existed. I'm guessing they are heat resistant.
You are a gem Fran, you are so patient and calm as you work through your pattern. Labeling bags writing on note cards with directions then putting the unit number it a smart idea. I learned the importance of chain piecing along with saving on thread. I have been sewing \quilting a few year's. I wear my Kermit the Frog shirt or dress while sewing cause I rip rip rip out a lot. I need to slow down. Thank you for sharing you video today. Most informative video I have watched from your shop. I have three 3 yard quilt books and made my first quilt from the book with the turquoise & purple quilt on the front. That's the Quilt I made. I sew at our cabin and crochet it home. I have donated to our local NICU since '07. Thank you Fran you've the best!🌼🌺🌼🌺
Thank you so much for doing this video!! I find it really helpful to see a process❤ I so hope you keep doing these tutorials. The information/presentation was just right with heaps of helpful information. And I LOVE the floral fabrics you showcased, especially the first set❤❤❤
