This has been one of the big eye openers of QUILTING thus far in my 8 years of sewing and I love it. Thank you Ladies. Lizzy Markiel

Beautifully instructed. Very easy to understand. I’ve been binging utube tutorials on how to construct flying geese units, and have been so frustrated with the very hard to understand directions. So glad I persevered and came upon your tutorial. Thanks very much.

I really like how there is no waste with this method. The flappy corner method really bothers me with how much it wastes.

do you have to cut 7'8th or can you make it 4inch squares? will it make a difference in the block?

So if my pattern calls for a 5 1/4 inch square-I would cut it 6 1/2 inches and my 2 7/8 inch block 3 3/4 inches?

If I wanted to not cut the 4 squares down from charms and not deal with the 7/8th line, how big will the middle square have to be to use 5" charms as is for the 4 red squares shows in this video, to make for a larger flying geese or star, thank you hope this makes sense

This chart shows just the geese units' sizes if the other chart was overly complicated: drive.google.com/file/d/0B84-9qxKZITOYzZWRGxwTzRTaEk/view

Why not mark one line point to point on the small piece and sew a quarter inch away on each side? Half the drawing....

I tried this and it didn't work for me. I had a finished size of 2 x 1 1/4. I added 1 1/4 to my 2-inch and 7/8 to my 1 1/4. It gave me something much bigger. Oh well, back to the 1-at-a-time method.

I found this site when I was trying to make sawtooth stars (it's a chart that shows the sizes you need to cut for the flying geese): drive.google.com/file/d/0B84-9qxKZITOYzZWRGxwTzRTaEk/view And this is the blogger's tutorial: www.diaryofaquilter.com/2016/08/fast-flying-geese-sawtooth-star.html
