I have never sewn a zipper, always intimidated by it. Omg thank you. I purchased the pattern and watched the video, and it turned out amazing. My first purse and first zipper. I'm on cloud nine. 😊
I know this is an older video. I have watched another on this and was wondering why you don’t show the back after the zipper is sewed into place.. when I did it and opened the zipper there was fabric and no opening.. what did I do wrong? 😞
@@terryekinch6592 I have the pattern for the runaround bag that’s why I watched it but I can’t figure what I did wrong because I did exactly what they did but the bag opened to fabric and I had to cut it to open it... I’ll have to watch and try to read the pattern.. I was just curious what the back looked like after she put the zipper in...
@@smk1964 I've never made the bag so I can't really help, but let me know what happens next time. If you are still having problems I will open it up to our newsletter subscribers, maybe someone there will have already made it and have an answer for you. @@smk1964 Hi Susan, This is Joan from Lazy Girl Designs. Thank you for buying the Runaround Bag pattern and for watching the demo episode with Kaye. The two fabrics attached to the zipper end up being the outside front of the bag and the inside lining of the front of the bag. After attaching the two fabrics to the zipper, the 'back' looks exactly like the front. You should see the right side of the fabrics on the front and the back. In essence, you are sewing the outside fabric and the lining fabric to the zipper at the same time. I didn't follow your comment about having to cut something open. Was the zipper unzipped when the final seams around all edges were sewn? It might be easier to share pics of your project so I can see what you are seeing. @@LazyGirlDesigns I know it’s hard to explain what I did. I fixed it so it would be hard to show you what I did...I placed the zipper in but I must have did it wrong because when I unzipped (the front of the bag) all you saw was fabric and no opening...🤦♀️ lol
