The fabric is free but your dedication to saving them from the landfill is a lot of work! Not only have you saved them, you have made them into beautiful and useful projects! You are an amazing lady and I am so very thankful to have found your channel as I find you to be very inspiring! I would love to have your abilities, you make it all look simple. I struggle, even though you make sewing much easier! I love your new machine! Thank you, Christine for making these videos. I have made several of your projects.

Hi Christine. You are such an inspiration, I have been working all week on my pet line and was looking last night at the pile of animal print scraps that I have and thought that is a lot of Doggie Doo Pouchs since they were on the smaller side. Watched this video and I am now putting pieces together and making really cute totes out of the mixture of prints and plains. Thank you again. 😃

These are not just practical, but also beautiful. Thank you for sharing this idea. I've made countless things from swatches and the results were often quite surprising. Recently, I've been given a swatch with pure wool tweed fabrics and so far could only think of one thing to make from them: I used small glass jars for my sewing pins and "upholstered" a little pillow on top of the lid for a pincushion. They look great, but who needs pincushions 🤭. Can you think of other uses for pure wool?
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs Год назад
Thank you Sabine. How big are your pieces? Is there enough that you could make the playing card holders? Or perhaps little lavender sachets, or hand warmers if they're really small. 😃

I love your videos, and the bags you make. I saw one of your videos where you made a cell phone bag that you said your mom requested, similar to a Tendersmile pattern. I have searched and searched to find that video again because I would love to make that bag, but I’ve had no luck in finding the tutorial. Has it been taken down, or can you give me some advice as to finding it? Thanks for all of your videos. You make it look so simple!

Just curious, could you use the sticky residue side to place the zipper down on it and then you would not have to use a glue stick or glue tape to help hold the zipper in place just before sewing? Just a thought, and also I love to watch you sew and how you go about it. Love that you love to use fabrics that many others would throw away. Repurpose, recycle, reuse. I love it.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs Год назад
That's a fabulous idea, and the sticky residue is certainly tacky enough to hold the zipper in place. I'll try this next time if the sticky side is the same side as the zipper tape. The only thing that would be a nuisance is having it gum up my needle. Thank you😁

I am having a hard time getting the paper/glue off of some samples I bought recently. Are you using steam or a dry iron? I actually had to soak the bottom edges of some and then of course they need to be dried and or ironed which is taking way more time than I want. I don't want to cut the bottom section off, but it might be the best thing to do.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs Год назад
Lori, most of the time I can get the paper off with a dry iron. I've just finished another project with paper that wouldn't budge. I'm going to have to soak the fabric in a tub of hot water to ry to release the glue. Not sure if it will work yet, but I have a plan if it doesn't work. 😃

It would be easier to just fold your box corners and stitch across - then cut the corner off - this would save the hassle of measuring the corners and cut out the boxes.
