In this video tutorial, we'll show you how to make your own detachable, oversized ruffle collar. Download our FREE PATTERN here: shop.tillyandthebuttons.com/c...
Optional:
Ruffle length: cut a number of 8cm (3 1/8in) wide strips, totalling around 2.5-3m (2 3/4-3 1/4yd) long.

Fab idea thanks Tilly 🥳🥳 quick tip just FYI if you tighten the tension when sewing the ruffles it gathers it slightly and cuts down gathering time it also works on sleeve heads too 😍😍

At 0:33 , the collar piece is cut on fold but the grainline was not aligned as per the instructions, I.e., it wasn’t on bias. This is different from the instructions!

I would like to make this collar but attach it to my blouse. I am a relative beginner- so my question is how? Measure neck link and adapt, then add in seam allowance 1-2 cm? Are there any similar videos of that step perhaps?

We cant download the pattern without having a card which is so confusing if it was free why the card

Hello! You don't need to enter any card details to get our free detachable collar pattern - in the space where you would normally enter card details there is a message that says "Your order is free. No payment is required." You'll just need to enter your name, address and email address to complete your order. Happy sewing! x

The collar is very similar to a removable peter pan tutorial and pattern we did in 2013 on the blog: www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2013/12/free-pattern-make-fake-fur-collar.html - just with added ruffles and neck-ties, the shape is adapted from that to be a bit wider, but the sewing is the same. There are only so many ways to sew a detachable collar, and they're very popular right now with lots of free tutorials available online which will all be relatively similar :)
