Nicole, I apologize for my previous comment asking for help. I watched video again and the card slots are reversed. I am making again to see if I can do it right. Thanks for your videos, they are life savers!!!😋
Thank you. This is an awesome wallet and you are amazing at teaching. I’m finished sewing the Triskele Wallet and I’m currently edge coating. Thank you again.
Same! I rewound this portion to listen again because I just made a purchase from The Sewing Room of Garner and it was great. Glad to hear it's tear-able tape and not terrible tape 😂
I have a suggestion for the landscape fabric. I found that i could cut the whole roll at once into 2.75" rolls with a kitchen knife. The knife needs to be a smooth blade not serrated and with a sawing motion cut through. it works perfectly. i too have a cat that wants to help in sewing and laying anything out is he cue to lay on it.
Excellent video. I have watched several of your videos on various wallets and this is the most detailed one yet. I could actually see every step that you made without trying to enlarge my screen. Not only did it answer all the questions I had but I learned a lot of tips or tricks that will definately come in handy. I never used the ModPouge before or fired the edges of my card slots. Thank you so much!
I love, love, love your videos! They are amazing! I am to the point in using your patterns that I am now ready to give this a try. Wish me luck! you always make me laugh!! What a gift!!!
Yay!!!! So excited for this. I have the pattern from the monthly club. Jess's video was great, however as a first time I want to make per pattern! Super excited, thank you.😊
Nicole THANK YOU so much for doing this tutorial! I did watch the dual one with Lauren but couldnt follow LOL One on one is better!! Now I think i feel better about making this while playing the tutorial!!!! Your wallet is AMAZING!
I have been making card slots with using the Fabri-Tec glue instead of the tape. I just find the tape gunks up my machine, and the glue is great and fast drying.
I’m confused on the coating you put on edges do you have a video on that to? Thanks for the video by the way I love this wallet. I like my wallets stiff and solid. Your video was very informative you explained everything well and gave different scenarios that could happen and how to take care of them . Greatly appreciated.
I have an order for a leather Triskele. I tested my first one with cork and love it. The leather will look great. Just a plain leather wallet she wants. This is not a plain wallet an the leather will up the look. I don’t think I will need to skive the edges either. Will begin sewing tomorrow.
Just a thought - Behind the card pocket I use the RIFD 2” tape to hold down my landscape material - my wallet has that extra protection. Bought it on Amazon
Great wallet,I will be purchasing the pattern. Will that RF fabric to keep your cards theft proof work here for the cards slots or use in between the two panels?
Hi I love your video can you please link the craft tex you use in the video for the wallet. Everything I came across looks like cardstock paper. Thank you in advance
Love the metal tags! Would love to know your source for the custom tags. I didn't see it in the comments below (doesn't mean it's not there). Thanks for taking the time to update!
Nicole, I have a big question. I ordered the templates for the Triskelle wallet, I was using Dark blue for the inside and the back side is black. So I turned the templates over to mark the window and card slots, when turning to the marks, everything is backwards. I am left handed, but it was all lining up wrong. Can you help me…please??? Confused on marks to not have things backwards. Thank you for any help and I will rewatch videos…
Hi, marking it backwards will only change the orientation/layout, it will not have any effect on the actual wallet accuracy or change any of the folds. Did you continue the project??
Yes, I did finish it…then I did another one and it came out great. Actually they both came out great…I did go back and watched the video again and you did say, it would still work out just the orientation would be backwards…thanks for great patterns and videos!!!💗
If your needle doesn’t like the wide double tape try a “Q” tip dipped in Vaseline and swab your needle (especially the thread groove when u see the thread start to pull- skipping a stitch). Works for me! but i I only have this problem if I use 2 pieces of tape- 1 on top of the other.
Sorry to ask you another question, but i really like this wallet. I don't have a Cricut cutter to cut my card slots. How do you do that and do you include that in the instructions?
I cut them all by hand these days too, I use an xacto knife and a ruler or I use my rotary blade to cut the center then my scissors to cut to the end of the lines.
Is there a reason you don’t stitch the ID backing fabric while you’re stitching the clear plastic? You could stitch 3 sides then glue/tape the top. Just curious. Made my first one last night…going to do another one tonight. GREAT pattern and GREAT instructions and video. Thanks for such a wonderful pattern!
If you stitch the ID backing fabric at the same time then the card won't easily slide into the slot, there won't be enough room. But you can certainly try for yourself! I'm glad you like the pattern :)
when using " vinyl"- what does she mean? faux leather vinyl? or is there another type of vinyl? What is the name of the vinyl that is shown in this tutorial. would love to figure this out plus any shops online where I can get it?
I used cork in this tutorial, I get mine from fabric funhouse but the pattern print is from a customer of mine and I’m not sure where she got it. Vinyl is considered faux leather.
Im just about to start cutting materials out and dont have any satin etc for the cc slots. Could i use bias binding (1 inch wide is 2 inch wide when opened and quite thin)
It’s needs to be an extremely thin material otherwise it’s going to be puffy in that area and possibly throw off the measurements. Thin like SF101 or Cambric. Interfacing may be a better option!
can you tell me the name of the interfacing? something tex? I only find Bosal but that one is white and yours is a yellow/brown color. Where do you purchase yours?
Thanks for the updated tutorial. Great as usual. Where do you purchase your kraft tex? How much is too much to pay for it? These prices are all over the place.
Oh gosh it’s been a while since I had to buy some, I generally just search for the lowest price I can find. As long as it’s name brand kraftex I go with the cheapest shop.
Where can I source the sassy cat that was mentioned in the supplies needed? 😊 Love this wallet. I just found you; will sub. Thank you for sharing. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the cavalier🐶
Thank you for another tutorial! I really like your cork. Where did you get it? I have made 3 wallets so far and they are awesome! I am planning to make many more😊
Tape will always gunk up your needle, unless you buy a special tape for sewing. To un-gunk your needle, have alcohol swabs handy to clean the needle. Do this or you could experience some serious problems.
I’ve been using tape for several years now and certain tapes will gunk up over time but not all of them (for me and my machine). I know how to handle it when it does 😉
@@SewGnar Thank you. I hadn’t heard of it before but when I spoke to my mom, she knew instantly what it was. I saw your plate later..it was very beautiful!
