Sewing a denim pinafore dress

It's now autumn in South Australia and I decided to make a denim pinafore dress that I can layer for the colder weather Autumn/Fall can bring. It can be hard to know whether it will be warm or cold from one day to the next this time of year so I wanted to make a versatile dress style that can be layered.
This denim fabric is a blend of ramie and cotton and has a lovely texture, purchased from The Fabric Store thefabricstore....
I did some top stitching detail and left the hem raw to fray over time. I can tell this dress will become a staple in my wardrobe for many years to come. I am already planning on sewing the same style in a different fabric.
Chris and I went to the Japanese gardens on Sunday, it was so peaceful and calming. We love visiting different gardens and reading our library books.
