You are so cute Adam ❤ thank you for the mention! I'm absolutely shattered! But it was a fantastic show! Can't wait to see what you make with your zips, they are #5, I do the pulls too. Natalie xx
Sewing for pleasure is my favorite show. Sue and i had so much fun and met so many fantastic vloggers but unfortunately spent too much money oops 😁. Was wonderful to see you both Saturday and the iron is fab. Countdown to next year xxxx oooo i forgot to look at your new pattern 😭 See you soon 🤗🤗
Ohooo - wish I was there. BUT - I was at a 3-Day Bernina Event (Heaven). We had 4 hands-on classes and 1 lecture class, and they fed us lunch too! 100 of us were in attendance and most of us stayed at the hotel and made a retreat out of it. So many of my friends bought sewing, embroidery, serging and quilting machines. One of my friends bought three machines and accessories! She couldn’t get it all into her car so I packed a couple of boxes in my car and drove them to her house. Fun, fun, fun! Hugs from Oregon.
Looks like you had amazing weekend (and so did hubby 😂). I’m constantly feeling like I’m missing out on all the amazing sewing shows 😢 I need to get my company to transfer me to our UK locations! 😂 xx 💞
Oooh that would be amazing, quite a change for the family though, so we can have you keep us company at the shows, im sure Carole would love you living here too haha you’d have to retire too, you’d have no time for work haha
It was lovely to meet you on Thursday at the show. Can’t wait to get your new pattern when it’s ready. I bought some Tula from the Steam Punk lady too and I’m saving it for your pattern. Xx
Hi Adam. Re: Safety with any iron. Can you buy a power bar in the UK? (Am sure you can). Re: Power bar. has an electrical plug on one end and on the other end it has the capabilities to plug in iron, a nite lite and / or/ any other electrical device you may need in your sewing room. It is a step up from an extension cord. Buy a power bar. Buy a small night lite. (Both are relatively inexpensive) Plug iron and nite lite into the power bar and other end to an electrical outlet. When you turn on the power bar switch, the iron and nite light will go on. Leaving the room just means that you look to see if the lite is on. Mine is in a prominent place so I have to see it as I leave the room. Just takes a minute to find the right spot for the power bar. If lite is on.....go back and turn off the power strip. voila! Could be a life saver. I knew a gal who had a fire in her sewing room because she forgot to turn off the iron. Cheers. J.
That’s a fab idea Thankyou, Stacey J from Stacey J’s Studio, has a lamp attached to the outlet she uses for her iron too, it’s a great hack to remind you to turn it off. I tend to use a extension cord across the floor of the doorway, I don’t trip over it often ever, but I know it has to go away when I leave the room at the end of the day, so I automatically unplug and roll the cord up 😁
Hi Adam, have you ever seen or know a "Judy Niemeyer" quilt? Quite a challenge, even for someone like me and I have been quilting for 40 years. I never thought I would be interested in the design, it is paper piecing, and extremely complex. Pattern alone is $100 (US dollars). Will keep you posted, I opted not to get the fabric kit, will do my own colors, might have to rethink that, needs to be solids, of tone on tone, like batiks, or grunge fabrics. You do such a fabulous job on getting the great fun unusual fabrics! The tan Featherweight, made in Great Britain has a clam type foot pedal. What kind of mini iron do you want? I got a new supposed to be pin, but looks orange to me, Oliso and it is not my favorite, there are better ones for way cheaper. My go to preference iron is the professional gravity feed with the separate water container, it is fabulous!! Have a good week.
Aww see here we had one main option for a mini iron and it was terrible, the Oliso is leaps and bounds better. The coating on the plate is very very smooth too which is a real treat. That Judy Niemeyer quilt sounds fabulous, please do send me a picture when you make some progress on it 😁
It was lovely to meet you on Sunday, looking forward to buying your new pattern when it’s out. Also loved Heathers shop and bought fabric and panels from her, was quite restrained as definitely could have bought more 😀
So glad you had a brilliant time. I have just booked my flights for the Festival of Quilts. Really excited as I missed last year. You are funny when you say "when I get some me time". When exactly do you think that will be?! 🤣 Is that the Hex on the Beach pattern in the background of shot? If so, is yours finished? I am currently on the last eighth. I am splitting my EPP time between that and Tula Sunrise. Hope you have a fab rest of week. 😘 O
Oh wow!! We aim to be there on the Thursday and the Saturday this year I think, would be fab to meet you if you see us there! Last year was brilliant and I can only think this one will be even better 😁
