The early 16th century is a time that experts argue over when exactly the medieval era ended and the renaissance took its first footsteps. For most people who aren't familiar with this time period, the dress that I am making will most likely look pretty medieval. For those more familiar with English history, this period is at the time of the rule of the Tudor king, Henry VIII. This dress was made in the 1520s for the Hungarian Queen and granddaughter of Maximilian I, Holy Roman emperor. I have been so excited to recreate this extant garment. I tried my best to make it as historically accurate as possible, but I admit budget did get in the way sometimes.
