It's always interesting to see how sewists create and organize their spaces. Thanks for sharing both of yours! Nikki, have you considered the Liesl and Co Wynwood shorts and robe for your pink silk? Rachel how about a whole cloth lap quilt for the faces fabric? You wouldn't need any seams across the faces. 🧵🪡
Thanks for sharing your sewing spaces with us! I had a big revelation this week about the rotary cutters with the handle that you have to hold to release the blade - there’s a lock button to keep the blade locked, but you can also use it to lock the blade open! So no more having to grasp it so tightly while cutting. Hope that helps! 🤗
Ok i love that face fabric. And I've got the perfect idea! Make a knee length trench with the body in the faces and the lapel and sleeves in a corresponding color like fuscia or purple! I'd wear that in a heartbeat! Oh pleeeeeeeease make it. I'm dying to see it!
I really enjoyed this structure way of showing your sewing rooms. I learned a lot, gained some new ideas and I have one suggestion. I sorted my zips into length, hold them together with decorative bulldog clips and hang the clips from the Ikea hooks.
Loved this video - interesting how your rooms have developed over time. Faces fabric- def cushions and or seat covers, storage box covers - or a tote bag/sewing machine cover or even wall art xx the brown stripe would make a lovely teddy bear
Hello my favourite stitch sisters so good to see you both on your channel. I am watching you beauties as I am typing away. So so organised love you both and it is great to clear what you don't need it anymore. :) :) :) :)
Fabulous sewing rooms ladies. I made a kallax cutting table, after being inspired by your one Nikki👏I think we've seen the pic of your mum before Nikki and how you are so like her❤ Fabulous drawing by your son Rachel - amazing 👌I think the faces fabric would make a lovely Heather Blazer by Friday Pattern Company. Thanks as always for sharing ladies as I picked up a few ideas for my storage 😻
Rachel & Nikki your video has really helped me a lot I have a one bedroom property and I do most of my sewing in my living room which to me is getting quiet annoying due to space. Love all your ideas and I must say your sewing rooms are amazing well done XXXX
I didn’t send in any questions but I have really enjoyed watching along with so many ideas. You ladies have made me realize that I too need to cull my stash of fabrics, patterns, notions, etc. I know I just wasn’t live long enough to sew all the fabric I have, lol. Rachel, for the unused fabric with faces I immediately saw a kimono style jacket/ duster (a simple long jacket). You would have so many choices of colors to wear under it. Thank you ladies. I do wish you made more than one video a month but I realize it takes a lot to do that. Take care, love you two.
Loved the tours and your pic of your mom and you! Beulah keeps me company every day as I sew as well. She was a master seamstress. Miss her every day, too.
Loved the sewing room tours. Your son is an amazing artist Rachel. Wow-very talented. And tell Dylan that I loved his revolving world plaque as well! See you soon ladies. Hugs from Oregon.
Use Gloria when you are sewing something super bulky. She's a workhorse and you cannot knock her timing out which you can do all too easily on a modern machine. Thanks for the tour.
So nice and learned some tips. Loved seeing the printed patterns in envelopes, the cycle of rotary blade life, the evolutions that your spaces have gone through are very relatable. Thank you for sharing your treasures and stories with us.
I absolutely loved this. I watched it while battling my way through the ironing! Your video made it much more enjoyable and its also made me want to sort my sewing room so it's more organised and tidy
Thanks for the tour ladies. I am going to work on organizing my sewing room this weekend! Nikki's audio was a bit maddening though compared to Rachel's, both in quality and volume.
It was interesting to see your sewing rooms.I like that you've both made the most use of your space and made them yours. Rachel the fabric with colourful faces could be used to make a blind and chair cover in your sewing room or for a group of different bags which would look designer.Nikki your volume was altering so I don't know if that can be sorted as I missed some of your chat.Your sewing machines look fab and I would be interested to see what each can achieve.
