Thank you for making things that I feel like I can’t do seem attainable! I love your videos! I’m a momma of 3 little girls and am new to “heirloom” sewing, but something about learning from another woman in the same season of life seems to make me less anxious.

It's beautiful! Both your design and your embroidery. It amazes me how you can work with Henry bundled to you. I watched those videos when you were a SAGA. You are so creative and not afraid to try any thing. Peace and blessings.

What kind of material did you embroider the shadow work on and what did you use for lining? Can you also use DMC embroidery thread or is floche going to produce a better result? If so, how many strands for the flowers? I have done a small practice piece on polyester cotton and I find this kind of embroidery VERY addictive. As I have said previously, you are VERY inspirational! I have never seen such beautiful and original pieces for children's clothing. I am DEFINITELY going to try and make a dress like this for some fortunate child out there!

Hey there, thanks so much. Check the description box below for links to the materials. You can definitely use floss instead of floche, I'd use two strands for the bodice and maybe three for the skirt. Play around with it and see what you like 😊 remember, there's no right or wrong way here. Have fun with it 😘

I keep 5 inch to 10 inch strips of fabric in my embroidery boxes. I sew it to the edge of the embroidery so it fits my bid hoops. Muslin or left over cotton, blends. Any fabric works.

Gorgeous work! Did you use 3 strands of floss?
@kitterzy

When she made her first knot of pink, I counted 3 strands. Well unless 2 of the strands contain 2 strands, but I doubt it. My guess is 3. 😄

I used floche - it's four strands twisted together, but you are not supposed to untwist. You just pull one strand at a time and use that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aGzFFEvOoXE.html

Please let me know how I can obtain the basic dress pattern for this and does it come in various sizes for children between the ages of about 3 and 6 years old?
@sarahclassicsewing
@sarahclassicsewing 5 лет назад
Sure, so the bodice is from children's corner louise (link in description box), but any bodice pattern would do fine here. then I have another video that explain how to cut the circle skirt, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IBs7wlHtCwo.html. The files for the embroidery work can be found on my etsy site, www.etsy.com/listing/664515378/pdf-antique-shadow-embriodery-work-motif?ref=listings_manager_grid and www.etsy.com/listing/699826313/pdf-antique-skirt-shadow-work-hand?ref=listings_manager_grid. thanks!
