i don’t know if you’ll see this or if you’ve already figured this out, but you can shorten zippers! you kind of just make a short stitch where you want the zipper to end and backstitch and forward stitch a few times, then you just chop the excess zipper off with scissors! there’s a ton of youtube videos demonstrating it if i’m not explaining it very well lol loved how the dress came out btw that fabric is soooo gorg. obsessed
I'm also a very beginner sewer, but I saw a tip somewhere that said if you have a fabric that gets caught in your machine, try putting a piece of paper under the fabric. once you are done sewing it, rip off the paper. i haven't tried this technique, but it might help!
Hi! I actually did use this technique for the first time when I hemmed the chiffon scarf I showed at the end ☺️ it does work very well!!! I think you maybe just need to change your needle more frequently because the paper dulls it? but definitely recommend trying it!! I think they also have dissolving fabric you can layer under your slippery fabric that helps!! thanks for watching & commenting ☺️🤍

I love the way you styled it. More Aline skirt would have looked great also, but with the scarf and boots and bag you couldn’t tell the difference. Maybe a bit of high low on the skirt hem would work too since it didn’t drape exactly as you wanted.
