Great ideas Sam, searching out garments to upcycle from Charity shops and Car Boot Sales is for me the way forward. It is so rewarding to make a garment using a free pattern and fabric that may well have been on its way to landfill. Just love the top you are wearing, I shall be downloading the pattern ASAP !!!
Thanks so much Jennifer - yes I love a good rummage too. I recently discovered clothes exchanges which are also good fun (& a bit drier than the car boot!)
Really enjoyed this because you’ve inspired me to up cycle 2 shirts into the up cycle shirt. Have been holding on to them though they don’t fit me because I love the fabrics. Would love to see your review of the book!!
It’s great you can join the challenge up with your holiday sewing makes. Great inspiration ❤ I love the top you are wearing, the gold detail is really pretty xx
Awesome ideas Sam, I’m planning to convert a Monsoon dress I wore for our son’s evening wedding celebration 12 years ago, and has been unworn ever since, into a Kimono-type robe if I can, or something else usable if not. Looking forward to seeing your transformed garments. Have a great holiday, Susan x
Brill ideas Sam. I have a ton of pretty tiered sundresses from a Spanish market…not my style at all but loved the fabrics, thinking of a statement sleeve Biba inspired top. Hope I can find the time 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Loads of fantastic ideas Sam! Love the top you're wearing. Thanks so much for kicking off the tour for us. Will look forward to seeing what you upcycle. Have a lovely holiday xx
I love this challenge! So many ideas, so little time! I also have a quilted blanket that I want to make into a jacket using a vintage 1970's pattern. I always find your vlogs so inspiring.
I can see you are in your element Sam with this challenge. You'll do well to get all that done in time for your hols. Yes, to the book review please. Have a great holiday.
I know Annette, I'm always overly ambitious but hopefully it'll motivate me to get something done, instead of leaving it until the day before the deadline 🤣
@@Frugalisama it is and I no longer have a queen bed. I used the fitted sheet to make two shepherd's costumes a few years back. I made a toddler dress out of the pillowcases for the Salvation Army Xmas charity. Now I want to create period inspired shirts to work into my current wardrobe. I'm kind of stuck in a rut right now. My current clothes are in good shape after 7-11 years of regular wear and laundering. Because they aren't worn out, I must wait to replace them. I want them now 😆
