great bags! The Ida clutch isn't on the website any more. But Swoon Sewing Patterns and Emmaline Bags have some free bags. I haven't made any of them yet, but I was able to download them for free (when you create a free account). Also there are many now on youtube that offer a free pdf download (ie: Miko Craft). I made sure to grab the ones from the Sew Sweetness and the Spencer-Ogg on Craftsy. Cheers!
Great tip, thanks! I also heard that if you put a length of string over the top of the crease that's been pressed into the fabric over time, it helps to press out the crease.
Has anyone made this apron using 44/45” fabric and pieced it? I saw really cute fabric yesterday but am pretty sure it is this popular width here in the US. Must look again. You would almost certainly need to buy more fabric! Thank you.
Hi, I haven’t made it with the narrower width. That sounds like the width of quilting cotton to me & perhaps if you’re really set on the pattern rather than cutting on the fold you can put a seam down the front, (you’d just need to add a seam allowance). Alternatively look for dressmaking or furnishing fabric which is generally wider & I’m fairly sure widely available in the US - good luck 🤗
Thank you for the list of free patterns. I would like to know where to get the pattern for the blue blouse in this video. I see the one listed but I do like the gathers in the body of the blouse you made.
Hi, I'm not sure which one you mean, there's a few blue patterns in the video but they're all linked in the description, including the one I'm wearing. Let me know which one you're referring to & I'll try & help 🤗
Hi - it does include the pattern - I've just downloaded it - however the instructions are in French - you can use Google translate to convert it to English - just drag the PDF instruction document into the box & it does it all for you - there's an explanation in this video @ 8:16 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-anOhTR8SgUg.html Hope this helps 🤗
This is such a clear explanation. Butterick says to make a casing (7/8 seam allowance) but assumes you know how!😂 Thank you and greetings from New York City 🗽.👍🏼🇵🇷🙏❤️
Thank you Sam! I think I might actually have the Simple Summer Racerback Tank Pattern by Emily of Life Sew Savory via Craftsy. Is the recommended fabric for this pattern Knit or Woven? I'm guessing Knit? Since Summer is approaching, I figured I'd try Tank Tops this year. I'm finally getting the courage to try garment sewing.
Sam, I always enjoy your gift videos and refer back to them frequently! Here in Texas where it isn't unusual to have animal heads on the wall Rudolph is so perfect. The origami tree tee is wonderful. The Christmas height and ornaments tree is my favorite for children. I can see a tree per child with the idea that its 'owner' would take it with them.when he or she has her own home. How fun to see mum's or dad's height at Christmas and compare! I know these videos require much research. Your hard work is appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you for the selection ! I've been thinking of the Calenzana but too intimidated for a while, but I've got second-hand fabric that would look so pretty if can wing it... guess this is my sign to Boldly Go Ahead ! (As a Frenchie, "Fonce" is not for dark, that would be "foncé". It would be slang encouraging you to "Hurry up !" or "Go get it !" or "Go Ahead !")
Ah yes it’s definitely a sign go for it & sorry for butchering your beautiful language 🤗 I think Google translate may have led me up the wrong path with the translation of Fonce 🤣
What great blouse patterns Sam. I've made a note of several of them. I've just finished making the Onil blouse by Pauline Alice for Sew April Blouse 24 and have nearly finished a dress of the same pattern which I hope to wear at The Gathering on the 27th April. thank you for making the effort to root out these patterns for us.
Thanks for the mention Sam 😊 Thank you for these, think Valerie makes mentioned that the mood flora had a sleeve with very little ease ! Have worn my la fonce today and my second Onil yesterday 😂
The patterns I mentioned are definitely still free tianascloset.com/index.php/2023/08/05/isla-puffed-sleeve-top-free-pdf-sewing-pattern/ tianascloset.com/index.php/2023/04/10/basalie-flutter-sleeve-top-free-pdf-sewing-pattern/
I’ve tried and the pattern is still free. So strange. You need to scroll down until the end of the web page and find the link to download. I hope that helps.
I am about to start the Flora blouse. I've gotten all my fabrics yesterday, i will make the bottom part out of a thin black linnen and the top part out of a black cotton lace that imitates crochet lace (it's actually knit lace). If you are in Europe, i ordered from a dutch online store called 'YesFabrics' and they have quite a nice selection of fine and rougher lace fabrics made from cotton or viscose in basic colors and they are not expensive too.
