Join us in celebrating Pride Month with Edgewood Treatment Centre's senior counselor, John Marshall, as he shares his journey and contributions to creating a more inclusive environment for the 2SLGBTQ+ community at the facility. With 20 years of experience at Edgewood, Marshall has been instrumental in advocating for more inclusionary practices and support for minority communities.
During the pandemic, Marshall's efforts to establish safe spaces and support groups for 2SLGBTQ+ patients and alumni gained momentum. With the support of the management team, including Clinical Director Joel Hughes and Executive Director Carrie McVeigh, weekly morning and evening groups were established, providing a platform for open discussions and a sense of belonging.
