After 0-1 Daigo went into zoning mode and made it 1-1, then started mixing fireballs into zoning. Asase was strategically outplayed and became passive.

Zangief is definitely one of Akuma's worst match ups. The rounds Asase won you could practically blink and miss it because it was so fast. The fact that Daigo had to start playing Akuma like he was Guile at one point tells you how low the margin of error is on Akuma versus Gief.

Sure ask capcom remove zoning completely, there are lots of guile / sagat players spam fireballs nobody criticises them. When diago spams, haters complain simple fact.

@@ProfKisuto What's the point playing Akuma just for eye candy? He's not just some guy playing for fun. He is a pro player playing to win. No matter what kind of strategies or broken character, in the end they still have to win. And I think arslan ash play style in tekken is kinda boring too!

Daigo actually has a decent zangief, which comes from the old days of super turbo where you got cred if you were good with ryu, guile, or gief. If for some reason gief were better than either of those two in a street fighter game, I wouldn’t be surprised if daigo played gief in tournement. You just dont see him play gief very much because gief is typically not as good as those characters (or eveil ryu when he’s in the game)

Fireballs are not spam. they are just extensions of a fist. Capcom gave this new generations of players so many ways to skip neutral becaus they are trash at neutral and footsie game.

Worst thing in SF is spamming fireballs all the fu...g match. Crapcom must nerf fireballs like you need to use the energy bar to throw 1 fireball. Like M.Bison of SFV
